ok...... for my veg room I have a 220v line that used to be used out there, there is enough line to get into the room without adding any more line, but I don't think I have a socket for it, and I would like advice on HOW to do the installation......

What kind of outlet should I get? I plan on running 1 A/C unit, two or three 400W MH, a couple of circular fans and about 10 CFL's from the line..... I just want to put in the socket, and put in a couple power strips with built in surge protectors.......

Anyone have any step by step advice

I can post pics IF NEEDED..... would rather not if i don't NEED to....

I would use it to add a sub panel w/ breakers and add outlets w/ breakers as needed. this is a little to complex to explain entirely in a forum such as this. I would recomend getting a book on basic wiring, read and post back any questions

its coming from the main panel on a 60 amp breaker...... I REALLY don't want to add in any more breakers or make another box...... Im trying to stay CHEAP..... I don't see any reason why 1 socket with surge protected and rated power strips won't work efficiently.....

not that I am trying to dis on your advice........

I don't have very much time or money to invest in this at all....

Would a standard grounded plug work?

U need a distribution panel. You can get a small 4 space main lug at home depot for about $15, + a few breakers.

You gotta do it like that. If something fails its gonna take 60amps to trip that biatch and in the mean time its gonna look like the forth of July.

... or I guess, you could change that 60a breaker to a 15a or 20a, then just tap off the larger wire in ur grow room with some plugs... <-- ok theres ur cheap answer.

you want cheap? use dirt from your backyard, reuse some old bulbs, urine for a fert and go w/ bagseed.
all the above will work and at worst, give you a poor crop. when it comes to electric, going cheap will cause you a fire or electricute yourself. Don't take this the wrong way as i am trying to keep you safe.
