You never know until you try. As for the seeds not growing, Weed is a weed. It will probably grow. Just read up on the subject and try your best. If it doesn't work out keep trying. If you're still to worried to buy seeds just using some seeds from a batch of weed you have laying around. I live in Eastern U.S. too, by the way. It's never to late.

i just started some seeds this week and i put two plants outside 2 weeks ago. im gonna veg the new ones inside for a few weeks and then they join the two outside.

i dont think its too late, just dont wait much longer.

yea i just put more out but im using bag seeds but you could grow some and maybe get some bud if you know what your doing. but i would put them out before the end of the mounth though

have you thought of auto flowering strains as they wont be as light change dependent

your only a few weeks late, if you look at the wild weed, it's about 12 inches tall right now, and the farmers soybeans are like 2-4 inches tall, i think you have at least a week or two to get a good shot at a decent harvest, planting late wont effect your harvest times much but it will mean less time out in the woods risking discovery, with the drawback of probably smaller plants and less product, though every bit as potent.
 
I'm right here with you man and I just put a couple seedlings out in the woods and I'm planning on getting a good harvest, not as much as my month and a half old plants but anything is better than nothing and plus I love the experience.
