I can only speak from my experience, and location.
I mostly agree with the OP. The street scene here was way better in the 90's to early 2000's. Now it's all pgr grown crap that is grown for profit (and speed) it dominates and has done for years. There is no effort put into curing, or strain hunting.

Up until my latest grow, I would have agreed hydro was best, but a good strain grown properly in any media will be a solid if not a fire smoke.

I refuse to buy anymore crap. I would rather go without than smoke "Asian moldy weed"

Growing your own is the only way to go down here.

Maybe its a combination of eagle 20 and acid rain. On a serious note I read about sulphur having an effect on terpenes and wonder if acid rain had something to do with the infamous skunk. Where I'm at after the acid rain was "cleaned" up farmers had to start introducing sulphur because the crops seem to have adapted.

Lol ive never been to a dispensary and i wouldnt bother i can grow better than they can hydro isnt more potent sounds like you just been unlucky cos ive been smoking a long time 0 tolerance breaks and i still manage to get baked fine i think its a combo of shit growers and shit selections by the sounds of it in your case ive smoked every kind of hydro weed in all sorts of set ups and ive smoked all sorts of well done organic soil grown/compost grown and always the soil grown is just better tastes better smells better and i find potency great i wouldnt say any method has the edge on potency tbh its simply down to how good a job you do your environment and your genetics and on a side note im from the uk here if your weed isnt knock you down potent 90 % of folks wouldnt be interested tbh

Don't buy at the dispensary, they grow flowers for show, no effect.
We suffer from the same problem here, back in 2005-2015
They were growing for the effects, so you ended up with something.. today they just grow weight for cash, nobody care otherwise.
Don't listen to people who tell you it's tolerance or that it's good in any way, they have no fucking clue what real weed is, they only know what is plastic dispensary weed.. the brand name won't matter. they all signed a deal with the devil to make weed shit again

The flowers are dry, no oil, no potency, no extreme smells or tastes, fails stick test, no oil/glue on inhale on the joint.. I can go on and on..
Those money loving people will employ each trick in the book to give you the lowest quality for the most bucks, each time.
