Transitioning into Hydro from soil

I have been thinking about doing a ebb and flow table for awhile, to start out my first attempt into true hydroponics. I have a 4x4x8 grow area, and a 600 watt hps cooltube for the area. Now what table would work best for me? what brand? how many plants and in what gallon contatiners would fit on this size of a table? what could my possible yield be on a table like this?? All the help on this is much appreciated

the atami wilma systems look good. they come in all differnt sizes.

no one can answer a yield question very well. there are way too many factors to consider.

Ebb and flow is one of the older systems, so it garnishes a lot of respect. It is what I used first. That being said, go with DWC. It is easier to set up, and easier to maintain, and easier to run, and it boasts better results.

If you go with a 5 gallon bucket for each plant the benefits are:
1)no pump needed, only an air stone, so if the power goes out your plant will live without the need to manually water. (assuming roots are established)
2)the plant adjusts to constant watering, and grows stronger as a result
3)each plant can be moved easily, as opposed to an ebb and flow table where they are where they are, making plant maintenance easier.
4)each plant has its own bucket, so each plant can be on its own nutrient cycle and harvested at a different time, if need be.

Downsides
1)multiple reservoir make nutrient changes take longer.
2)if the res needs to be heated you need to be x amount of aquarium heaters as opposed to 1

Where u live josh lol. Im in a semi cold climate and i still have to use frozen water bottles in my rez

I grow in an outdoor shed, my grandfather built 50 years ago. Most of it is well insulated, but the floor is not and its raised about 4 inches from the ground so there is a lot of air moving under it. , and during the winter it can be 80 int he room and the rez is still 40, on the other hand, I think during the summer it will work out to my benefit. On the downside, I had to buy 12 mini heaters fro my buckets when i switched.

ah ok. maybe get some foam and put the rez on top of it? to insulate the bottom? but ya durring summer thats going to kick ass.

I thought about that, but went yhe heater route, because during the summer, with the lights, I feel heat will be harder to combat than cold during the winter.

frozen water bottles (i use 8 oz ones with fishing weights in the bottom.) i change them out once a day. i test temp at changes and its always at 69 degrees (just ready to be lowered)
