I love this quote...
Quote: "McKiernan requested the additional 20,000 troops be sent to fight the increasing violence by the resurgent Taliban forces in the southern and eastern parts of the country."

And we're fighting the Taliban why? Are they a threat to our national security?

Couple this with Obama's promise to redeploy troops from Iraq to Afghanistan and it's a done deal. But I'm sure this is a "just" war now that Obama is taking the reins, right?

He's going to perpetuate the Bush Doctrine. Told ya so...

Are you really that stupid, ignorant, or just trolling?

Just wondering...?
Please explain how this is NOT a continuation of the Bush Doctrine Einstein.

On second thought, you'd better not. You might hurt yourself.

If they are putting the plans for this in motion now, while Bush is still in charge, how can this be Obama's fault? You are aware he isn't actually in charge of the country yet? Bush still has a few more weeks of shafting the people time.

Obama has already gone on record with the intent of redeploying troops to Afghanistan. Think he'll put an end to it, or will he continue with his plans?

Have you seen the list of mid-night politics that bush has in store for the next month?

Max420, what threat did Saddam present to the U.S.? When there was a Saddam there was no Al Quaeda in Iraq. Now..? Whoops! How about Afghanistan, how many of the attackers, even back in the 90s, were of Afghani origin? Whoops again!

If you're so gung ho that we go after the countries who make terrorists that attack us, then why are we not at war with Saudi Arabia? You realize, don't you, that if we went to war with Pakistan that we'd end up in a nuclear war, yes? I assume that you know which countries have nukes and which don't, and that would likely also include Iran.

Every president does this. :) Do you think that Obama will start his Change program by rescinding all the nifty executive powers enacted during Bush & Co.'s tenure? That would be one hell of a start. Pushing to get rid of PATRIOT in its entirety would be fantastic. Except that he voted for it.

Then there's the idea that he's going to even decriminalize mj, even when he's continued to state that he is not in favor.

Cognitive dissonance, anyone?

I just watched our end of year "conservation with the Prime Minister".. He was asked about if he'd hold to his commitment to troops out in 2011.. not since the bush press conferences have you seen so much ducking and weaving... I agree partially with dave (hey dave) about the taliban being a none issue.. that would be true if it wasn't for western countries sicking their troops and noses into an area and culture that just will not accept our way of life..and for me its their right seeing that they're some of the oldest societies on the planet.. If it wasn't for primarily US oil greed and need to lord over the world this jihad would not be happening... If you know a group has issues about your culture why in the name of sanity would you taunt them by soiling their grounds with your presence.... US claims to be the land of free speech and rights... but it seems only if the US approves and it doesn't affect them... get out of the holy lands...etc and stop telling other civilizations how to live.. I'd say the US should How does that expression go... Physician heal thy self....... between the rich bankers and scam artists the only difference is that they(bankers'wall st) kill/bancrupt/make homeless people with shit eating grins on their faces... At least you know the taliban will fuck you up... here they wear sheep's clothing.... IMO :leaf:

I agree with the lets get out of Afghanistan and any other country where we have no business being as a military presence. I also agree with not funding warring countries, Like for example Israel, Columbia, and all the other CIA funded wars. I will be real dissapointed if Obama doesn't figure out this Afghanistan thing pretty soon. We're just getting sucked into a quagmire like the Russians before us. We have littered the planet with our childrens blood. It is time to bring them home and have them protect the "Homeland". What we have in Afghanistan is a government hated and feared by the people (Remind you of any other) a resurgent Taliban, Also hated and feared by the people and the US and friends Military also hated and feared by the people. We can remove one of those players and let the other two work themselves out.

Have any of you seen the ads on ABC for the new hit series, Homeland Security? They're glamorizing the loss of our freedoms. I may boycott watching All My Kids on ABC and just get it off Soapnet now.

 SHIT! Did I just say that out loud...?

It's all about "American Empire" Twisty. Obama will see to it that the Empire will still stand while on his watch. The folks that voted for him are no different than those that voted voted for Bush or his predecessors.
