Twaxin' in New England - NH/MA/VT/ME?

Hey everyone!

Having gone to school in NH, college in VA, and traveled to many regions of this great country, I know the major difference that climate and culture can play on marijuana. I've run into a few interesting fire type shatters and waxes- all from Boston. I have yet to find any concentrates or waxes in NH, and none with the absolute clarity and potency of concentrates I've tried from other regions (uh, HELLO California, Colorado, Washington waxes? YUM!) So, I was curious:

What is your favorite strain to extract from, if you have one, and where is from? And also, is there anyone else from around here that enjoys dabbing, concentrates, waxes, etc.? I would love to chat with fellow dabbers from the area about concentrates and waxes.

My top 3 breeder strains... green crack, super lemon haze, sour d/chem ..find a garlic berrylicious version
(I always judge off the scissor hash from a nug before i run, it translates unless you interfere )
Got a nice green crack thats dry and sticky on scissors, the hash likes waxing up and tastes like green apples..lemon haze tastes like lemon candy and makes beautiful light gold shatter..chems tend to be real gooey on the blade and tend to clean scissors .. I love em, it has a fabulous garlicy berry smell that burns my eyes and chokes you if you breathe to much, tastes kinda like a green monster energy drink
Only have one of each so idk how good the strains really are or phenos(except the chems, I have tons)....your mileage may vary

I love sativas, early before you see any amber to really fuck up my mind, good hash will be like trippy cocaine..if I can dive into insanity im happy with it, (which is why I prefer landrace sativas. I don't really do breeder genetics )...once you figure the type of high your after, key to a good hash strain is a lot of flavor, it will be potent simply cause your concentrating cannabinoids. Brick weed hash will be killer.. so imo its really important to select strains for flavor and not so much potency...you really want the smoke to coat your mouth with flavor as it goes down. People get really excited over that. Especially the "candy" tasting strains that are super sweet and decadent like the slh lemon head shatter..

Many of my plants are grown and selected specifically for hash production..I choose looser/airy plants that I don't have to break up as much and plants whose leaves aren't very waxy..yes it is bad for bag appeal...but leaving as many buds whole as possible will produce the most pristine extract free of chlorophyll and internal crap.. I also select strains that don't have waxy leaves which messes up the flavor and consistency. Some plants imo mainly indica, the kushy type plants need alot of nutes to show their potential and wont frost unless you pump them up which can also turn the leaves all waxy,...If you can you should run as many of 1 strain your space allows to find a good keeper. It really makes a difference. I try and pop at least 30-40 seeds when trying out a strain but I like to run double that and yes I will find a few that are very different from the rest, only way to find those hidden beauties

i really like the flavors coming through on the concentrates as well..

green crack has pretty much waxed up on me with minimal effort every time.

ive never had blue crack concentrate, but been lucky enough to try the buds..
would loveeeeeeeee a blue crack baby in my garden.

agent orange is superrr delicious.

i once ran a random seed with a very dank lemon terpene profile.. no luck on cloning her, but the oil she made was one of my favorites as well..

I've only worked with a limited number of strains but Cotton Candy strain by Delicious seeds makes awesome honeycomb... Turns to wax with minimal effort. New England concentrates leave something to be desired in my exp: I was sold some shatter not long ago was black as obsidian...

That bs black shatter is all over the east coast. Its terrible!

i have extracted 100's of strains over the past several years, and according to the aggregate data on the spreadsheet,, deathstar is the over all winner here for us in michigan right now ,,, but there are lots of great strains to make concentrates with, i find the quality of the final product is more directly related to how fresh and well taken care of the work material is than what the actual strain is, that and having the proper equipment and knowing what you are doing kind of helps too

We get that black nasty here in the midwest too. Haven't been over to MI so cant speak for them. I'm grateful though for all the bad hash I've been sold. Its what triggered me to find this website and get going on DIY. Everything i make, and im still a super beginner, turns out amazing. Textures really vary alot though. I was lucky enough to score some Agent Orange for one of my first runs and i've been chasing that one ever since. It was so ridiculously tasty!!

Strong genetics & well grown cannabis = dank ass concentrate.

yeah it kinda bothers me though because for many ppl that narsty black garbage is what they think of when they hear about shatter. Only dabbing what I make myself these dayz
