Day 109 - 6/18/2020

Captain's Log. Stardate 109.6182020. Things are progressing wonderfully, The buds seems dense as a rock and heavy, just what you'd hope for in these specimens. Anyways... lol. Getting anxious to cut these bad-girls down though! I'm going to shoot for 6/24/2020 as the harvest day. It'll be a Wednesday night and a long day, but that'll put me at 10 days of dry time so that I can trim 4th of July weekend. Maybe not the best timing as my wife and I have plans that weekend, but sometimes you have to work with what you have.

Noticed that AT1 has started flowering. Spotted the beginning of calyxes and the double stigmas coming out of them. Also fed them at 1.0 EC today. If they handle that well I'll introduce some Bud Explosion for the beginning of flowering next time I mix some food up for them.

Day 110 - 6/19/2020

Buds are really starting to lean all over. Good sign they are super dense and heavy. Mixed up 2 tsp CalMag, 1.5 light tsp Mega Crop, and 1.5 light tsp Bud Explosion which came out to the 1.5 EC they've been feeding at.

Auto Tangerines look good, I adjusted the ties on AT#1, but when I went to adjust AT#2 I could feel the tension in the branches and stopped. AT#2 was the one that the top already snapped off of. I guess this pheno just doesn't like being trained. No big deal, carry on lol.

Day 111 - 6/20/2020

Day off from watering and it's the weekend? Bonus. Decided that they are going to be chopped Tuesday night. They are going to be hung whole and hoping for about a 10 day dry. That'll put me at 7/3/2020 which I have off for the 4th. I feel like it's going to be a lot of trimming.

This morning was their first feed of Bud Explosion. Total feed was 1.1 EC. Checked in on the Auto Tangerines tonight. Noticed 2 large fan leaves blocking a TON of lower growth on AT1. They both were amputated for the better of the whole. I'm very excited overall with this grow that's spent it's entirety next to the furnace with no environment control AND under a cheap "Amazon blurple" light with a 24/0 light schedule. I may just continue to flower them out in this space and with this cheap light just to see if I can do it.

Day 112 - 6/21/2020

Gave the girls what is going to be their last drink this morning. Fed at 1.4 EC. Going put them into 24-48 hrs of darkness and then chop. Wanted to wait until Tuesday but I'll be off to do it on Monday. Split decision lol. Trichomes looks great, overall the buds look great minus quite a bit of foxtailing.

Today was the girls last day of light. Disconnected everything from the timer. Nothing left to do but wait until chop. Took a plethora of pictures with lights out. Here's a last look for a day or two!

Day 113 - 6/22/2020

Not much to do today while the big girls take in 48 hrs of darkness before the chop. Confirmed will be chopped tomorrow after many moments of indecision lol.

The Auto Tangerines look fantastic considering the lack of everything I'd like to give them. They seem to absolutely love the daily feeding they get. Today was quite a bit higher with .5 tsp Mega Crop and .5 tsp Bud Explosion into a gallon of clean water. Came to a total of 1.6 EC and diluted back down to 1.4 EC before feeding.

Day 114 - 6/23/2020

Harvest day. What a day. I always seem to under estimate how much work individual events can take, like this or transplanting. I took out my digital camera for photos today. I'm still don't know how to use it, but the pictures came out half decent.

Think I'm going to take a break after this harvest, at least daily posting. That was maybe excessive and tiring but I'd like to throw up some of the Auto Tangerine photos once in a while.

Well that's disappointing. Can't even post full pictures. Links work at least.

This afternoon will be 3 full days of drying so far for the crop. Checked them last night. The OG2 in the back had very dry crispy buds at the top (bottom of where it's hanging) due to the fan I had on low on that side. I had it pointed towards a wall but still seemed to dry those buds out too quick. I turned that off and will recheck that bud closer tonight. There should be enough airflow with intake air flowing to the carbon filter and exhausted outside.

Current conditions in the tent are a steady 66 degrees and 60% RH. Pretty happy with those numbers with zero environment adjustments made with equipment.

The Auto Tangerine duo are doing well under the blurple light. It's more than obvious my last grow did so poorly due to lack of food and watering. Extremely happy I found Mega Crop. It definitely saved this newest crop. I continued to try to LST the AT2 plant that I already broke a top on. It was going well until I continued to fuss with the current tie downs and broke another huge branch lol. Sometimes I just can't leave shit alone... i didn't even tape it but used garden wire to tie it back into place to another branch. Hopefully it'll heal and I will leave it alone for sure now if that part lives.

Day 7 of drying. The tent is staying a perfect 64 degrees with 62% RH. Some stems are still a bit bendy so this slow dry is doing it's magic.

The Auto Tangerine duo is doing fantastic. They are both growing almost into the light. Decided once the current crop is dried I'll set the tent back up for these 2 girls to finish flowering in it. The big branch that I broke seems to be slowly recovering. Went from stressed and super limp to regaining some of it's rigidity.

Can't wait to be there! When you realize how much stress training they can take you finally learn how to properly train! Or start to in my case. Sometimes you can go to far but most times they bounce back with a little bandaid. Enjoying the burple grow, switching lights when they go in the tent?

Yeah i definitely think so. The SF2000 is leaps and bounds a better light. I considered starting more autos. I bought a bunch of single seed autos of many different strains.

I've got a Northern Lights Auto, Auto Lemon, Big Bud Auto, Dr. Feelgood Auto, BCN Critical XXL Auto, and a Diesel-Matic Auto to pick from if I go that route. I also have 1 more each of Blue Dream and Amherst Sour Diesel photos if I wanted to try to redo my first grow with more experience.

Good news. Trim jail isn't fun but it's creating finished results. OG Kush #2 was trimmed and jarred. 42.4 grams. I did find some seeds in OG2 as well as the lower portion of CG1. Little bummed about that but will try again next time! It wasn't a ton but maybe it was from being the closest to the heater. OG2 hygrometer shows low RH in the jar around 53-55%. Hoping that's just the hygrometer catching up slow to the jar conditions.

20200702_233323.jpg

Also got some Northern Lights sparklers ready for the Fourth of July! The Northern Lights smells extremely strong. Very strong pepper aroma! The OG Kush had a similar strong pepper smell. Burping that jar and getting a whiff of that was like whoa.

Some early harvest numbers as I crack open the 5 filled jars to burp them...

But first.. All the hygrometers in the jar are reading 53% RH dead on. I noticed yesterday and was hoping it was the meters adjusting to jar conditions. I looked over at the tent controls and the AC Infinity was reading 62% dead on where I set it at. The Inkbird meter was reading 53% and now I'm pretty confident that the Inkbird unfortunately is the correct one and I was basing my decisions off of wrong info. Not sure if they are close enough to 55% RH to cure. Opening each jar and they all have quite a powerful and distinctive smell though! Lesson learned.

Numbers. CG1 was trimmed first and weighed on my old scale that only measured in whole grams. Came out to 20 g after I snuck off a 2 g piece of bud to go smoke lol. CG1 = 22 g. OG2 trimmed next and weighed in at exactly 41.26 g. NL#1 required about a jar and 1/4. I weighed up exactly one ounce, 28.35 grams.

Twentyeight.threefive
NL1_trim_7_2_2020 (8).jpg

The remainder of the Northern Lights weighed out to 42.83 g. I've already started on trimming CG2 and it's extremely seedy, I'm not sure what went so wrong now. I think they wanted to be fed every day. Maybe it's best use will be for edibles. So with 3 plants weighed and 3 to go I'm at a total of 134.44 g. Back to trim jail.
