If you can control the environment, I am sure the light will cover that amount of space. And welcome to my journal.

Yeah, I think a lot of plants has it's advantages and disadvantages...the right strain, more plants can yield great, but the right strains and the right veg and less plants do as much or more. Gonna go sub so I can watch your grow!

My next grow will have my 600W HPS integrated into the equation. Probably turn one of the LED's on one end on for a few hours, then the HPS will overlap for a few hours, then the other end will come on and overlap for a bit then the HPS will turn off and the last LED will finish the last few hours. Try to simulate the sun's movement and not really use that much more than a total of 600W (only overlap a total of an hr to keep my heat down). This should give me great penetration and all kinds of different spectrum light to make large frosty buds (is the hope).

This grow is just testing the current capabilities of LED's alone. So far I really like the lights, but am noticing my girls are running a few days later in their cycles than normal (looks like I will have to be watching trics closer than I usually have to so I don't pull them early)...and there are slight differences in their growth...which is to be expected, since the lights are so different.

If I had to guess, I am thinking the blue spectrum LED's are slowing the stretch down, like a metal halide.

nice and simple. keep it up
Thanks brother! I try, am even gonna simplify my mix further I think in future grows as I am trying to figure out the food web thing in the soil.

had to resub to get updates via email.
Welcome back.

Here are my girls tonight. I will be pulling fans from the top later gradually over the next few days to let the light penetrate to lower foliage and buds.

I bet it's getting stinky in there:bigjoint:

What are your thoughts on the light(s) thus far?
Yeah, there are so many different contrasting smells, is almost odd and pretty strong especially when the lights first go out.

As far as my thoughts on these lights go, it is getting very obvious to me though that these lights need to be hung much higher than I can in my closet (above 28" or more I think). They are well behind my HPS grows at this point and pretty much the lights are the only variable. Except me...and my human imperfection...:eyesmoke:

Here is an update to show their progress under the Twin Suns.

Actually been finding out from others using the same lights, I have mine too low and they are slowing growth with too much PAR light. And I have no more head height to adjust.

As far as the stalks, I agree, but is how they grew, under HPS they are much thicker usually.

And I don't pull anything except a few fans from the top to expose the mid-level buds to get them to increase in size.

Not a big defoliator.

These lights are interesting, would have never thought they could have gotten too close... either way, everything looks great! :leaf:

Yeah seems they suppress stretch if too close, all stretch...leaf, bud, etc. My SLH leaves don't even look normal to me...way to skinny and small.

Here she is next to one of her next closet mates, you can tell by her leaves, something is up with the Purple Suns, this has been grown first under 100 watts of CFL in my veg box and moved out here because of size issues under 70 watts of CFL.

And Super Lemon Haze. You can see her main cola in the King's Kush picture, I left it leaning there, the farther away the better it has been growing.

I got some replacement LED's, the others have hang height issues for small grows and were just overdriving my girls (I think). The few days I had the replacement lights in, I noticed serious improvement in everything including smell. So on that note, I put my girls in darkness for 3 days...forgot to get pics before darkness. Then they will be chopped and I hope to remember to take pictures. I have let them all go longer than I usually do trying to get to the amber I like, am hoping the darkness and drought helps.

Thought I would show you the girls that are going in to replace them.

And this is what one of the new LED's look like. Mostly white, can see the plants really nice.

Peace.

I ended up harvesting my girls and they ended up giving less than half what I usually grow with my HPS. Is disappointing but expected this about half way through bloom, I know what my girls do and these just were not up to it.

I am hoping the new LED's that were sent to replace these perform better.

Here are few photo's of the chop. This was my Cheese all the way to the first box picture just to show the layers in the box.

Hope you all enjoyed my journal...wasn't a lot of response but the few that read it, I hope you enjoyed.

Please move this to completed please.
