I would operate and free the head. Before I knew better I lost a lot of seeds by planting them too deeply, causing them squirrel around and die before finding an escape route. The cotyledon is designed to hold enough supplies to support an excursion, but not an extended expedition.

I've planted seeds deeply with no problem, but it was in soil.
Peat moss or whatever this is, has visibly more resistance to it but I have no experience with it so idk

While I respect Double, I think his expertise has allowed him to bypass this particular problem. If Cigarz waits a couple of days it might be harder to dig it out. But if he wants to risk it then I'll watch the experiment.

I've never used soil, so you're probably right. He's using rockwool. That's what I've always used until recently switching to Rapid Rooters.

Oh, I'll be watching this one too... never really seen it before. Got a feeling it will find it's way, but yes, I agree. If not, id gently operate.... and yes, Im a fan of RR as well.

I used rapidrooter for clones but i like rockwool for seeds. Not sure why guess no point fixin it if it aint broken. These cubes had preset holes so not sure maybe it was too deep i usually make my own holes but i liked these cubes more. ‍♂ part of me wants to dig it out but part of me doesnt wanna risk it ‍♂

now ive had nothing but trouble with the rapid rooters, the seeds mostly get stuck in them, there must be a secret to useing them. ill stick to my potting soil, no problems at all
Clearing things up.. Im a fan of RR for clones, not seeds. I use the paper towel method, and have had 99% success rate with hundreds of seeds. Soak them in water for about 16-18 hours till they sink (poke at them if you have too), and then put them in a dark warm place... you'll have tap roots in 18 hours.

My only issue with soil is its harder to transplant and doesnt hold as much oxygen, also doesnt stay wet as long.

Ive never not had a seed germinate on their own. Seems like a pointless step to me. Only time i germinate in paper towel is if im buying reg seeds or bagseed so i dont waste a cube.
