Understanding why Ph is irrelevant with organics

Glad you guys brought this back up, good topic in my opinion. I always followed @ganga gurl420 way of going the non ph way. I only tested my water once in my apartment and it came out above 8 with the drops. Chloramines and all, i still just watered straight from the tap. Now my grows weren't perfect and maybe the little issues I had was due to some sort of ph issues, but for the most part the plants stayed healthy and well. I did use random things in the water every so often which im sure adjusted the ph somewhat on those occasions. Coconut water powder/ag sil/fish hydrolysate/expanded em1, nothing really on a schedule just used a little something every two weeks or so. My hopes always are that the fresh ewc/compost applied every so often would kind help regulate everything into its proper region in my organic mix.

I still do see others using ph adjustments for their soils with great results as well. I think like was said earlier in your conversation, it really just comes down to personal situations and environments. When I can get things up and going again, I'll be sure to do some of my own little comparisons on my soils and see for myself which, if either, performs better or worse.

Irrelevant? I like noting everything about my garden, including soil and water PH. I couldn’t care less if it’s right or wrong, I just like to know.

I've purposely ran a "deficiency camp" to familiarize myself with symptoms, ph being one of the courses. Why doesn't ph matter, if high ph and low ph have different symptoms?

Anyone else run specific deficiencies on purpose for publication photos? I can spot a pH from a mile away. I'm better at being a shitty grower than you which makes me a better grower! My deficiencies can beat up your deficiencies!

The alkalinity of the water matters more than pH. If you have low alkalinity, you can avoid adjusting pH even if the pH is as high as 8. Most people don't investigate the alkalinity of their water source. People with low alkalinity water are more likely to think pH doesn't matter simply because they don't adjust pH and everything is fine. People with high alkalinity water are likely to run into problems if they don't acidify. This is why people should stop making a blanket statement that pH doesn't matter. It's misleading and will harm people's grows.
