using super soil in 3 gallon pots

i just got some seeds of space bomb, chernobyl, and the void, and have been wanting to try the super soil for a while now, as im sick of trying to get the nutes dialed in just right, and i figured what better time then now. the only question i have is that i usually only veg for a month before going to flower, and a 7 gallon pot would be way overkill, so I was wondering if using this soil mix in smaller 3 gallon pots would work given the shorter veg time and smaller plant size, or would they run out of food before they finished flowering? I really hope it will work because every strain from subcool and TGA looks like the dankest weed ever, so i just want to replicate his methods whatever way i can, thanks.

no one has tried this? or know if the plants would have enough food for a month long veg and 2 months of flowering?

While I can't say for certain (strictly because I have never done a cannabis run yet), I would say that would indeed have plenty of nutrients to use for the veg stage. I would most definately get your hands on some compost/worm castings or cow/steer manure from Lowe's/Home Depot for flowering....make yourself a tea with it. And by that I mean mix (for starters...), about a small handful of the manure into the water, stir well and water around the sides of the container. Every week or so gradually up the amount of manure....(ie: in week 2, if responded well to the first feed, add a larger handfull (x2 the amount))

To be honest Mike.o, I very surprised that no one chimed in. If I remember correctly in the revised recipe that Sub made....he says that there is more than enough food for the plant.....if you search for the name Ohsogreen, he too made a manure tea (not the same recipe as SC, but pretty close to what I suggested), had brewed it with a airstone, etc... what I had said to you isn't wrong...it's something that will work if you're in a bind. Remember to watch the plant....it'll tell you when it's hungry....

And if anyone else has something to say, don't hesitate to chime in, I don't believe a gave him the wrong advice, but if there is something even better...tell'em alright??

Edit: Keep in mind too that not all strains finish in 60 days, get yourself a jeweler's loupe (ebay, jeweller's store), or a pocket scope (same thing, just different magnification(s)) from Radioshack.

Peace, love, rock'n roll,

One love,

the idea behind using the super soil is to not use teas or the like. the best thing you can do is it give it a try. adjust to more or less super soil for future runs if you run into problems. - since most autos can run their life cycle in 55-65 days i would think 1/2 to 2/3 super soil would be fine.

hey natahnking thats good to here if you have to use 1/2 super soil and half soil base in 3 gallon pots as subcools 8 bag mixture is way to much for an average home grower

yea it seemed like a lot, i only made a half batch with 4 bags and it almost filled 2 trashcans, so it should be enough for a while haha

Nice Tcurtiss.
I was searching riu and you nailed it for the 3 gal. I think though when I veg in my one gal I will transplant in 3 gal with all SS. So really only using 2gal of SS Since plants will be a good month old and I know they are heavy feeders.

Wow little bit of a old thread. LOL

My partner just pulled 3 zips from a Chernobyl using a 3 gal pot and about 2/3 SS. No top dressing.. No nothing except good ol well water.
