Wedding Cake DWC

Hi Willie

I don't get that either. It hasn't changed much in the past couple weeks, just got more red and yellow leaves. I've found a few mature seeds sticking out of the buds on the stretchy plant. I knew it hermied, there's just no way to find them all in a scrog. oh well, not the end of the world.

I have big plans but it's going to take some time to achieve. I've applied for my medical permit to allow me grow 50 plants. Until that's approved I'm stuck with a maximum of four plants.

Once approved I'm going to run 12 regular plants and flower them quickly looking for a good female that will work well in a SOG grow. I figure I have enough room and lighting to run up to 24 plants in a SOG. I purchased a blumat 12 plant irrigation system that I'll expand once I've been approved.

I don't want to do scrog again. It's a great way to utilize all your space, but it's also a colossal pain in the ass to manage and being bent over like that for long periods of time hurts my back. My hope is to get to a point where it's mostly hands off other than topping up a reservoir.
Holy Smokes! That is super exciting!
I don't know anything about the rules and regs up North.
Will this allow you to grow for medical patients? If so, are you allowed to sell or gift to them?
Fill me in, I know squat about what you are entering into...

The SOG seems to be a preferred method for fast turn around when wanting to produce as much product as quickly as possible.
Find a 'Mother' of choice, and clone the Holy Moses out of her, after a couple of rounds it seems like 'they' have it down to a science, really know the plants and their needs. I've read that they keep their plant count up and their veg time down, turn over seems to be the name of the game.
I really hope it works out for you. It would be something that I think I would enjoy, but I know that it will never happen. I'm limited to a maximum plant count of 5. (clones or seedlings don't count until they are 5 inches tall)
Please keep me informed as this moves forward.
Cheers,
WillieP

Hi Willie,

This will only be for personal use. I worked with a really good doctor who helped me figure out a reasonable plant count as well as completing all the paperwork. I just had to sign the paperwork and sent it off to Health Canada. I did that a couple weeks ago so now I'm just waiting for approval. I'm told it can take three to four months to be approved. Until that comes I'll continue within the recreational rules.

I have HSO Bubba's Gift seedlings going now and I'll run four in coco the next run. This grow will just be about learning the new medium and watering method so I'm better prepared when I start upping the count.

I think SOG just makes sense when you consider the time, labour and nutrient expense of a two to three month veg versus two to three weeks. I think I've also come to the conclusion everything is second to genetics. I've done a half dozen grows now with feminized seeds from different breeders and they all have been unstable for the most part.

Looks so awesome! Good luck with new new goals , that is really exciting ! It has been fun to watch you grow and progress and I wish you all the best as your gardening endeavors broaden.
:p:leaf:
Thanks Amber! These last couple years have been a wild ride and I've learned a ton along the way. All the best to you too.

Congratulations on getting your shot! I'm super envious!

Beautiful! Congratulations. It looks so good!! Have you tried any yet?
Thanks Amber, I tried some yesterday that I left sitting on my seedling light for a couple days. Taste wasn't there yet obviously but I'm pretty impressed with the high, made me want to take a nap. Taste was a little like pine and fruit combination.

I'll let them hang for a week then I'm going to manicure and do your paper bag trick.

Bubba's gift seedlings are looking good and should be ready to go by next weekend.

Congrats on your harvest! No PM this time I see, nice job. Beautiful plants at the end, you got a nice Autumn harvest look. Was this the Pheno Finders Wedding Cake S1? I think you'll like Coco a lot vs dwc, especially if you do automated multi feeds. I'm only feeding my coco plants twice per day by hand and I'm really tired of it-I would absolutely automate if I were to continue with coco. It'll be a great practice run for your bigger grow plans though.

Not a lick of it this time thank god. Even the leaves deep in the scrog were clean and green. I was way more aggressive this time with my defoliating, after the chop I had practically no larf on the screen. Previously I had a full layer of larf at the screen level. These were seed junky seeds. The colours were crazy, lots of deep purples and reds that carried into the buds on the middle plant, never had anything like that before. I'll take some nice glam pics once it's manicured.

How many plants are you running? The twelve pot blumat system is surprisingly inexpensive.

I'm setting up a 4x4 no till bed and I'm using a Blusoak hose system, which is a drip hose with Blumats carrots connected to each end-they are super cool for beds, especially organic setups that use water only. I'd be worried that a nutrient solution would clog up Blumats, but I'm by no means an expert! I'm only running 4 plants per cycle in flower until I get licensed for a bigger grow, probably next year. I'm building a nice sized grow room but it's taking longer than expected, grrr. Looking forward to your bud shots!

LG,
Really happy for you to have a successful harvest, and looking forward to watching your next run.
Congrats,

Thanks Willie, I'm super thrilled with the results. By far my largest harvest to date.

The results are in.

Plant #1 131.5 grams
Plant #2 149 grams
Plant #4 229.5 grams

Also got about three grams of kief out of the trim bin. I've been enjoying puffing on that for the past couple days.

:o Hopefully I don't run into problems, I planning on putting nutrients through them.

Glad it turned out good! Great looking buds!
Very nice harvest LG, gotta spread out that kief, you'll miss it when it's gone!
Thanks! I made some butter last night. I used two ounces of bud for a pound of butter, usually I use two ounces trim and larf. These cookies are going to be fire! lol.

I'm only smoking a bit of the kief before bed now, it's too heavy for daytime use, but it's great for helping me fall asleep.

Do you regulate the ph
Yes daily, that grow was my last in DWC, I've got four two week old bubba's gift going in coco now.

I recently decided to make the switch with my edibles process. Typically I just decarb and then infuse in a cockpot. This time I will attempt to make bubble hash with my trim (I believe I will go with dry ice extraction as it seems simpler and cleaner).
Then decarb my hash, and mix direct into my food, Butter, or coconut oil (I like to add infused coconut oil into capsules).

I love bubble hash. I didn't clean the bags well enough after I used them the first time so I haven't done it again. I bet it will taste better than cannabutter made with bud or trim. I'd be interested in hearing your results.

Laughing Grass, on what day of flower did you harvest? I missed that part and am just curious in case I grow one of these out.
I believe it was 64 days. Plant #1 was ready at 58 days but I wanted to take them down at the same time.

I cleaned the room really well with bleach after pulling the plants. Also cleaned the basement probably better than it's ever been cleaned before. A member here helped me get my hands on Regalia and I've been spraying them once per week.
LG what concentration of Regalia do you use? Just foliar spray and nothing in your water?

I've been having some powdery mildew problems my last two grows and I picked up a gallon of Regalia, I'm doing a soil drench at 1 tbsp Regalia to 1 gallon water, wondering if that's enough.
