Tomorrow will mark week seven of this plant, my best looking strain. I watered with nutes yesterday and plan on flushing with the next watering. I'm probably going to harvest in a little more than a week. I'm going tomorrow to get a pocket microscope so I can start checkin the trich's.

Here are the pics. What you think? How much longer?

Buds look great, nice long colas. I'd say you're still a couple of weeks out, depending on the strain of course. Is this an indica dominant plant? If so, I'd push it past 8 weeks, into 9 or even 10. I've read that bud size can increase 25% in the last two weeks, so make sure you're getting all the bud you can for the hard work you've put in so far.

Good job, props.

This is indica dominant I believe. The fan leaves really looked like it when it was growing. Yeah I guess I'll have to give it a couple more weeks. I will know much more after I get a look at the trichomes up close.

I'm planning on harvesting as soon as I see amber because I'm looking for more of the "up" high rather than the stoned feeling.

Just a thought that a lot of people aren't aware of ... the later you harvest your bud, the more 'sleepy,' couch-lock, body-type stone it produces ... bud harvested earlier will produce more of a clear, mental high and less body. There are other factors that go into play with that, strain being the most important, but the general rule stays the same. For example, we'll assume a perfect 50/50 hybrid gives 50% mental, sativa-like high and 50% body stone, indica type high. So, if the bud is harvested at the optimum date, that's what you should get. If it is harvested a little eary, you get more 'head high.' Harvest late and you get more body stone ... FYI: People that use cannabis as a sleep aid generally let it bloom a week or two longer than optimum so that it produces the best 'sleepy' bud. Spoken from experience. :-) Another FYI: That doesn't mean you can harvest earlier and earlier to get more of a mental lift - it's really just a comparison. Harvesting too early will sacrifice potentcy and yield, but bud harvested earliER than bud harvested later of the same plant type will give a more sativa-like high in comparison.

why not grow sativa's for a sativa high and indica's for an indica high?

Yes, of course we all do that ... you may have misunderstood what I was saying, I'm not sure. I'll try to explain a different way ...

Example: A sative harvested late will be more 'sleepy' than one harvested at the optimum time - but it will still be very much a sativa high. I'm not implying that the high is altered enough to mimic a plant of a different variety, i.e., a sativa harvested late would be like smoking an indica - no, that's not it. As I said, it's a comparison thing, so to speak ... whether sativa or indica they get 'sleepier' with late harvesting but they will still have the same primary high. Know what I'm trying to say? A so-called sleepy sativa isn't really very sleepy, just sleepier than one optimally harvested. A sleepy indica can put me right out, 'cause the indica falls more in line with sort of thing. Hope you understand.

Damn these next couple of weeks are going to be the worst haha.

Oh and I'm pretty sure that I have one indica dominant and two sativa dominants so I guess if I harvest both at the prime time I'll be able to choose what type of high I would like....or I could just smoke a blunt if I want to sleep and use a vaporizer if I want the heady high lol.

when the hairs are about half brownish/red, just pick the shit, dry it and smoke it. Your growing your own pot and getting high. That's the point isn't it? When I harvest, I'm too happy/excited that I'm growing my own pot to care what kind of high I'm getting. I'm GETTING HIGH!!!!!!Don't get too anxious and pick too early and don't wait too long. Right in the middle.

thanks man. There are so many "tricks of the trade" and methods of doing just about everything and yea, sometimes it's fun to experiment but we can't forget the reason why we are growing in the first place......to get high!!!!!

thank you for this info it was helpful, the right moment is usually indicated on how the trichromes look right? (to get a certain effect)

So I got my 30x magnifying glass and looked at the one plant today. The trich's are all milky, most of them pure white, and very very few it appears might be starting to turn red, or they may just be clear going to milky I'm really not sure.

I know I definitely have a little more to go, but when should I start flushing? The plants are in less than a half gallon of soil so I don't think they should take too long to flush, probably a week at most.

Here are some update pics. Tomorrow will mark the completion of week 8 of flowering.

edit: oh and the pistils are all about 40-50% red, except the top bud which is still mostly white.

they look much better from the last week of growing :D

i would flush today and harvest in a week if you want that heady high.

or maybe you could harvest most of it in a week and let some go for an extra week or so, that way you can choose what kind of high you want. well thats if you like more of a body stone sometimes.

Well I just watered the three plants. This one that will be ready first I didn't flush, but I gave just water where the other two got nutrients. I think I'm going to flush it next time I water (probably Saturday), then water it once more after that and then harvest it so probably sometime later next week I'll be harvesting. Nonetheless I'll be watching the trichomes closely from here on out.
