What do you do with your stalks?

I like to use as much of the plant as I can so I was looking for a way to get the last bit of good from my stalks. You folks know that after you break all the bud off it there always looks like there are some trichomes of some type stuck to it that you can't get off. I started saving them in jars hoping I'd get an idea. Then one day I remembered the old TV ads for the Rock Tumblers on TV back in the 70's. Remember those; you get some rocks, put them in the tumbler and a few days later you get smooth rocks.
I started with quart bottles and moved up to gallon pickle jars. I put any stalk that feels "hairy" to the touch in and a few times a week I put the top on real tight and shake the hell out of it.
The first 2 pics are the jar I'm running now just after a good shake. Next is the jar after I dumped all the stalks out in my trim tray. It's got a 150 micron screen that I use to separate the kief from the stalks BUT you don't need to have a trim tray to get the kief; a small paintbrush will work for the stuff stuck to the jars sides. Next is all the kief I brushed down to the bottom and then out the top.

I mean if you REALLY want to harvest off the stems, you are better off throwing them in a 160 micron bubble bag with dry ice. If there is any really thrichs on there, that will give you a better product.
I can only assume your "kief" has a lot of plant material in it.

Honestly I’ve been giving them to my mom for her arts and crafts ahah.
She brushes the good ones out for hemp twine or uses the stalks for future wreath projects.

I’ll give this method a try with the next harvest (she has a big enough pile by now lol)

If it had a lot of plant material in it wouldn't it be more of a green color? It gets me high and all it costs is a jar to put the stalks in. What's the difference between a 160 micron bubble bag and a 150 micron screen besides the process? I got well over 10 grams from that one jar so far.

Fair enough I didn't see you had a 150 screen,
The dry ice and bubble bag trick works great though because the cold temps and shaking of the bag really helps separate the thrichs from the plant

Yeah I compost everything from my grow and use it for my outside plants but I just can't bear throwing that much kief in the compost pile.
I dont really want to do the work for that small amount of kief tbh.

But each person has their style. I can respect that.

Consider this. Here in northern California it gets to 115 degrees. The soil on those days in the direct sun can get easily up to 150-170.

I pose this question to you.

Is my soil now decarbed for my peppers?

I hope so. They deserve some fun before I eat them.

I can't allow any pets access to my grow, the hair would be all over the place. So not an issue here.
Yep yep. I outdoor grow during the summer. Thats where she will have the access.

My tent is secure though. So yep I get it.

The next two pics are me weighing the kief I brushed out of the jar and the rest are the kief in the bottom part of my trim tray.
That doesn't look half-bad! Pretty cool. I make a lot of bubble hash, so I don't bother separating the small stems from the flowers still with sugar leaves on. I throw it all into the machine without sorting (my wife won't let me do the clothes laundry due to this fact). I figure a stem with trichomes in it must be utilized with everything else because it all adds up in the end. I hate the idea of wasting too.

Everything left over from my bubble hash making (those wet stems, leaf, and flower) are then used as a top dressing for my next grow straight in the pot. The earth worms in there seem to really enjoy it because within a few weeks it's all completely gone. And I'm talking pounds here (dry equivalent).

If it wasn't for parents being pussies and not whipping their kids asses for being out of line, I'd be marketing them. Those things hurt once they get dried out. BUT!... there's DHS and whatnot... So, I just compost stems, stalks, root balls, soil, and use them as "filler" around my place to make Bermuda seed beds and stuff.

We have had too many generations of children raising children. A parent shouldn't try to be their childs friend, it's their job to put them on the correct path and a good parent sets an example. Corporal punishment definitely has it's place but should never be administered out of anger. THINK about what you are gonna do before you do it, explain why it's happening and why it won't have to happen again.

True!... I prob deserved every ass whooping I got as a child. I had to go pick out my own Willow tree switch to get whipped with..... and don't you dare bring back a twig... that just pisses them off more! LOL!
