What do you do with your stalks?

True!... I prob deserved every ass whooping I got as a child. I had to go pick out my own Willow tree switch to get whipped with..... and don't you dare bring back a twig... that just pisses them off more! LOL!
Bring em a 2x4 and let em know you mean business.

Loved that clip from current wars where Westinghouse is a kid and his dad wants to whip him and he points out that his fathers chosen tool was inferior. He said something like "I can take a beating but I can't stand inferior workmanship"

I didn't. At 7 years old in school, being ass-whipped by teachers was not a lot of fun for refusing to eat an egg salad sandwich that had egg shells in it during lunch. It also led to other issues as I got older and hurt my career, as I suffered permanent injury from kneeling on my knuckles for so long. As far as corporal punishment is concerned (I'm over 60 now), I wish those people were still alive so that I could do unto them as they did to me as a young child.

But yeah, I can understand that conservative American mindset. Heck, I knew people when I lived in Florida that routinely kicked their dogs. Hard. Here I think you'd get arrested for even doing it to a dog today, let alone a little human kid! lol

Well I do understand that a lot of folks need to fall back on their ability to induce fear to modify behavior in human little toddlers or animals, and after a few rounds of violence and inflicting pain, it can work to their advantage at least in the short term. After all, I ended up eating that egg salad sandwich hours later because I thought I was going to die otherwise. Anyway, this sounds like more a subject for the "politics" section.

So what about those stems?

Ahem!... yes, those pesky stem and stalks!... compost them! I know some people who will reuse their compost for the next grow, but I just don't want to mess with it. Besides, you can introduce bugs back in there that you don't want.

Cannabis roots have a long-documented history of being used for medicinal purposes. The oft-cited Chinese herbal Shennong pên Ts’ao ching, dated to around 2700 BCE, mentions that cannabis root was dried and ground to form the basis of a paste used to reduce pain caused by broken bones or surgery.
It was also crushed to extract the fresh juice, or boiled to make a decoction, and in this manner used in many ways, including:
  • As a diuretic
  • As an anti-haemorrhagic to stop post-partum bleeding in childbirth (as well as other forms of bleeding)
  • To ease difficult childbirth
  • To reduce pain and swelling from bruises and scrapes
The Roman historian Pliny the Elder wrote in his Naturalis Historia in around 79 CE that cannabis root could be boiled in water to make a preparation that relieved joint cramps, gout and acute pain. He also stated that the raw root could be applied directly to burns to reduce pain and blistering, but must be changed frequently to prevent drying-out.
The Roman physician Dioscorides also attested to the use of boiled cannabis root poultices to treat inflammation, gout and ‘twisted sinews’. The Greek medical writer Oribasius wrote that the ‘dry’ root could also be applied to eruptions of the skin such as subcutaneous cysts, when mixed in equal quantities with pigeon droppings—although no other source apparently makes this claim.
The English physician, William Salmon wrote in the early 18th century that hemp root could be mixed with barley flower and applied as a poultice to treat sciatica and hip joint pain. From the late 18th century up to the turn of the 20th century, American physicians would recommend decoctions of hemp root and seeds to treat inflammation, incontinence and venereal disease.

Any parents who allow matches, or weed gummies, or LSD, or Tide Pods within the unsupervised reach of a toddler needs the whoppin'. Like really WTF? Is it common for parents to harm their young children due to their own failures as a parent? I raised my 2 kids a lot differently than I was raised, and they also raise their own kids like I did. I broke the cycle, and raised normal kids without the threat of hurting them all the time if they accidentally did something wrong. And they don't need psychological therapy or have addiction issues, are independent and successful as adults. I guess anecdotally it does show that at least the phenos I produced without hurting them did turn out okay. So perhaps that option works too.

I tend to keep bugs off my twigs and branches by not storing them in a place where bugs will be present before adding them to my pot. I do have one centipede though, and although I've only seen him twice it makes me think there might be more eating my worms :( I'm pretty certain the centipede wasn't introduced from my branches though. I suspect my worm castings that I often run outdoor stuff though was the cause.
