Navajos get the same treatment. Navajo syntax is different from English and sometimes they get the order wrong. Plus the accent is amusing to some people (not in a nice way). A majority of a certain demographic assume they are stupid and slow. Little do they know that most Navajos speak from two to four languages. English, Navajo, Spanish and sometimes another native dialect. I've seen a lot of discrimination and rudeness over the years.

Down here it's the phrase, 'it is what it is' if you start to say that a lot then you know you've been here too long.

is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.

Haha, I am a Canadian. That's pretty accurate.

haha! I just watched the trailer - that is too funny. I don't accentuate my vowels the way they do. otherwise it sounded totally familiar. o.o

scary accurate, my city was the top result and I always thought I was pronouncing things the proper way

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.
