What led grow lights to choose.

One way to approach this is to look at the grow diaries of people using LED's. I'm sure some of them will have roughly the same area to cover that you have. Look at the results those people are getting, ask them how happy they are with their lights and take it from there.
If you simply ask "What's the best LED for a 5x5" then you'll get a ton of different answers and probably be none the wiser. "Best" can mean different things to different people.
Also you might want to consider after-sales service. If you buy a light from say China, and there is an issue with it, are you sure the seller will rectify the issue/replace the light? I'm not shilling for HLG but I happen to know that their after-sales service is excellent and they care about their customers getting a good light that works for as long as it's supposed to. Good luck.

Programmable Spectrum Control Means Infinite Possibilities

Just check out the reviews I am going on 3 1/2 years now and have not had any issues, I was using 2 600 HPS. Now for the last years with these Blurple (Yes People like to call them Blurple) lights I am happy and can't say enough about these units, I don't know how the other lights work because I have not tried anything but my 600 hps and now the Solar System 550s two of them I am happy I made the switch.
They are a bit pricey but well worth ever single penny I spent on them. Grow has been doing better than any HPS i've ever used. I know some will say some shit but i've actually been a user and very happy use of these lights and they produce better by far, Bigger, stinker, tighter, and much more Potent.

Look around do some research and find out what people that actually use a product say about them, But make sure what you listen too, as I mean long time growers not someone who just started and says shit they have no idea about.

Over the 3 years. I've saved changing HPS lights every 8 months 565.00 dollars on bulbs alone, my power bills dropped and saved me another 120 per month which comes out to around 4000.00 alone in power over 3 and a half years.

120 x 12= 1440 x 3.5= 5040.00 Power

115 x 2 = 230 x 3.5 = 805.00 Lights

There are other options I would choose then CLW's. They make nice suplemental lights IMO if they had near/IR.
Here's some SBS action if anyone is interested.

Horticultural lighting group makes great DIY kits that are the best bang for your buck. I currently use a Amare Bar 8 but they are a little pricey. What size is your grow space?
Me too! Nice! Which one do you have? Canna-Spec or Solar-Spec (C)? I have the Canna-Spec. Got mine covering 5'8"x7' at 750-900w. Love it! Gen2 only a few months out.

Not sure what you mean supplemental these are the only lights i am using and they are doing just fine by themselves. But like I said someone will come and say something different that has never tried them. The 550s are all I been using and these are pretty nice ladies for what it's worth.
Good luck on what ever you choose that area I am in is about 10'x5' those are six feet tall and are pretty good IMO...

btw its a rolling garden also not all the same age.

Yes, they look very nice, did not mean to knock. Was just sharing my opinion. If they're white lights were mixed in at about 50/50 with those then i think you'd like them better. To each his own. They've always used quality components too.. Nice grow!

Yes I wish they were white but I got them before the real white leds came out, It's okay I expect that here, We all have Opinions and that's what makes this a good site, I went your link pretty impressive also. I would like to try those lights out too. I am willing to try anything now seems at first after many years of growing I was skeptical about changing from the HPS but I did it and never looked back, but always looking for better. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Like I said it makes this a good site for people wondering the, What's , How's, and When's. Take care and thanks again.

Nice! 2 tents , 2 lights, each own dimmable driver with Separate UVA for each. I like that about the Bar-8 too. It's x4, 220w daul Bar lights or can even be all individual. All x4 Drivers are on one dimmer though. I wish I had ceilings to grow plants like @Renfro .Props to that dude!. I'd stand these x8 bars up vertically w/ a lil something above,, around a monster.
Yup, Bar-6. Have you finished a grow inder it yet? Apologies if already mentioned.

Yes, I have. Just harvested some lovely lady's from under it (Spyrock Special Hash Plant). Light has great penetration and the heat distribution is perfect.

I have a Mars Hydro TS2000, a Kingbrite 480w Quantum Bar, and a Horti Bloom Mega plus 640. The Mega Plus was like $680 shipped, with LM301H diodes and is BY FAR the best of the bunch in every way. The space I have is 4 x 4.5 and it's too bright so I have it dimmed to around 75%. Should be plenty of light for a 5x5. The others are very light and kind of cheaply built, but the Kingbrite also uses the same diodes and for it's size performs comparably. The Mars clearly 3rd place, but still better than an hps for sure. IMO whatever you get make sure it has the lm301B or H diodes. Best tech out right now. Also, strips are much better than QB's.

Thanks man ! Would you mind sharing photos of your set up ? You're very lucky, as the price of LM301B and LM301H went up by 20% recently

Which light would I use for a 4x4 grow tent? And how much would it cost?
