I refused them access to the basement so they just opted to disconnect the cable that runs to the basement. The shitty comcast antique system here doesn't allow it anyway. The upper levels still have cable.

I thought it would go without saying, but apparently I need to say it: I don't want to appear suspicious in anyway. Joking or not I don't want anyone thinking I have a rape room down stairs. Or a grow room. Or anything to hide. I just want them all to stay out of my business.

I let my legal status lapse recently. I am waiting for the same dr to come back to town. I was out of town last time he was here. Even if I am fully legal I don't want any cable repair guys knowing about it. Especially since when I am legal I am still way over my limit.

FUCK THE DVR......you are asking for trouble if you let him down there. I believe cable employees are offered a reward to turn in growers if they find or suspect a grow operation.

Don't let anyone you don't know in your house period. If your growing you gave up that privilege. Sorry but way too much of a risk. What if it's your ballast interfearing, have you seen those tools they use to pick up frequencies to find interferences? Some of them can identify where and what is interfearing and if he smell or see's anything you better hope he isn't gonna rob you himself, or his friend isn't a cop.

Just call the cable company and explain to them that you want to cancel your appointment because u dont want anyone to see your grow room ....problem solved !!

Do what MSB and Kinetic recommended and cancel the appointment and take the cable box in for swap. That's usually it.

If a new box doesn't fix it. Go to where the cable enters your house and try it. If that shows a problem the issue is on their end. So you have just isolated your house as not it.

If it worked outside but not in place then you pull new coaxial cable. You already have cable in place to act as a fish so even if you have to pull a new cable it is fairly easy

But anytime you get into fishing cable you'll need to have a drywall saw. If you don't your fish will snag unless you are a licensed electrician. Your voodoo object maybe different than mine. But mine is a drywall saw. Good luck on this.
