are my nutrients a good balance? www.dutchnutrientformula.com i have the whole line except the organics.. i picked up a kit for $100..

i dont know anything about nutrients what so ever, i just use this kit and balance the ph and hope for the best lol.. so im just wondering, mayb what kind of NPK balance i should be looking for if i get a different brand of nutrients when im done with this one. any suggestions, i want triple A grade quality harvest. i will be doing a flood and drain system next grow. what are your secret mixtures ppl!? lol.. thanx in advance

what is the npk values on the bottles?

All round a 20-20-20 is good for veg and a 10-30-20 for flower...but some would argue as it is really about what your plants need...some can take higher doses than others...and do not start with full dose ever start at 1/4 or 1/2 then gradually work up as plants get bigger and used to the nutes.

I use GH flora nova 3- part...the one regga is using in his Showdown!!!

thanx lime, ya i was curious as to exactly the right NPK balance.. i know ppl use different numbers for different reasons, wanted a general number tho, obviously im not that far advanced into growing to know a different balance for a different strain, which would b kool to test down the road. i was curious about the GH flora 3-part... is it simply just one bottle of each? N, P, & K? is there such a thing? and what additives do you use?

no problem...different feeding for different plants even same strains too...each plant has its own needs at different times. those #'s are like a ratio so 20-20-20 is like 5/5/5 or 10-10-10
and 10-30-20 is like 1-3-2 or 10-60-40 .

no i don't know if there is such a thing? but mine have different ratios for each bottle eg grow is 2-1-6 , micro is 5-0-1 , and bloom is 0-5-4 i use nothing else.

2 1 2 for veg

2 1 3 for bloom

BTW, those are the ratio's. You can use many different types of nutes to get to that ratio.

so there is different NPK balances for the stage of the plant, i understand.. this is a ratio becuz you would dilute at different strengths for each stage. and then also this NPK balance can be different at full strength for different strains. so i guess im wondering what the best full-strength balance of NPK is for VEG, and for BLOOM. Or to make this easier on myself mayb.. are my nutrients a good balance of things throughout? i just follow the chart i get with it, i'll try and lay it out for you. here is the website again www.dutchnutrientformula.com

I have reverted back to K.I.S.S. and I use the Super Nova Bloom only. Look at the back of the bottle. It has all mobile and micro nutrients. I learned this from a fellow RIU dude.

KISS means Keep It Simple (insert last S word here)

And you might just want to google Super Nova Bloom.

so i dont see "supernova bloom" but i see "supernova plant nutrient" which apparently is an all-in-one plant additive.. it is recommended to use with "Dark Energy" aswell.. but not really recommended to be used with other plant additives becuz its already got everything in it.

this is good advice from my experience. DNF is good too to the Gibbs
thanx, ya i will stick to that, mayb grab some supernova sometime... what do u think of the additives i listed before tho, like superthrive, bloombastic, etc.

for example ive herd bloombastic like triples your yeild.. and superthrive is awsome for transplants etc. etc. etc.

Be careful with supplements. They cause many issues and could cause you disaster if you do not know what you are doing. I would never encourage anyone to go out and buy up additives. They'll only have plant problems that need diagnosing later.

KISS means keep it simple stupid. If we tend to overthink something, or over analyze, that acronym comes in handy. :)

GH Super Nova Bloom is the nutrient I was referring to. It has every mobile and macro/micro nutrient that the plants need, even calcium and magnesium, so it is perfect as a stand alone nutrient for an RO water system. If you are growing in soil and really want something to just give your plants an extra boost without hurting them, top dress the soil with some worm castings or bat guano.... Worm castings made my Miracle Grow plants go nuts.

thanx for clearing that up lol.. and your absolutely right im totally overthinking everything, it just gets you so curious about additives with all the "so called" results, i would def. try one at a time on its own with a simple base nutrients tho, like i wouldnt mind trying "Roots Excelurator" (that would be good to have around at my first hydro attempt, or to use regularly in a SOG)... mayb even "Phosphoload" (cutts vertical growth off 2 days after you add it, said to increase yeilds by 25 to 30%)

oh and i have some bat guano "flowering" stage that i got from a friend, hasn't bin opend.. how long is it good fro usually? but apparently when i talked to the ppl at my local grow shop they said that this bat guano would bin in replace of my BLOOM Fortifier.. that the bat guano is just an organic version... BUT she said that i would probably have better results with the bat guano..

I apologize, it is GH Flora Nova Bloom....
i dont understand, you use this as an additive to your base nutrients? ..which are? becuz the GH Flora Nova Bloom OR Grow are just base nutrients that are 1 part formulas for each stage..

Wrong stuff, that's why I apologized :) I keep thinking "super" when i think of Nova.... I'm referring to General Hydroponics Flora Nova Bloom

Google that one up. :) read it's guaranteed analysis. :)
