What does everyone here do for work?

I build turbo charged all wheel drive race cars for a living. It was a hobby and I got a good name tuning peoples cars and helping my friends in the car club for free. Then worldcom and enron crashed and so did my company I worked for. I did voice/data/video for 10 years and decided since the market went to shit I would start charging for my car services. I did good enough to open a small shop. Now I am in a 5x bigger shop. Next thing I know I took over the market in my city, shut a few competitors down and now I have closed my doors for atleast 3 months since we counted 35 cars at the shop. I am going on my second year and I should be rich and famous soon at the rate I am going. :)

How about you guys?

I've been a custom exterior remodeler since i was 16 (19 now). Widow you must do a lot of work on subarus then. i prefer tuning bikes instead. just because when i pull up to a light and some guy in a ricer revs his engine and starts showing off for his girlfriend, i know i could smoke him in my gixxer with no problem. However, i will say that i got raped by a 94 supra ONCE.

At the moment I have a 650 hp eagle talon. Plus a 150 shot of nitrous that I havent used yet. Ive got the car stripped down to 2600lbs. Im shooting for 9's in the quarter. Hehe yeah bikes are usually my favorite thing to race. They can keep up sometimes. :) I mostly do mitsu stuff. ie eclipse, evolutions. I occasionally get turbo neon and wrx's. Pretty much if its turbo I will work on it.

Hey widow, you must be talented. I'm building a '62' chevII with a 500Hp-383" sbc in my home garage. I retired 3 years ago from the teamsters and needed a hobby, plus I'm a car guy.
I hope to have this rod in the 11s, maybe 10s on juice> specs: 4 bolt main block , eagle rotating assy, balanced and blueprinted,KB 10.5:1 pistons, dart alum. heads 2.05 in. 1.60 ex ported and polished, Cam- 248-248 @ 0.50 548-548 lift alum roller rockers, victor JR. polished air-gap intake w/a 650 demon Mech. dp, 1-1/2" headers, 700R-4 OD. trans, 4:11 posi rear, BF goodrich street drag radials and a 150 shot of NO2 if needed I know the headers are a bit restrictive and the carb a bit too small for 10s, but 11s should be a snap. the car only weighs 2800 lbs. As I said, my work status--Retired, thank God!

Growing up my dad owned a mechanic shop and when I would screw up in school or something I would get stuck at his work. I just picked it up natural. I started out building 350's and 351's in my teens. I had an old L82 that was 11.5:1 with 2.02 close chamber heads, 750 holly...,etc. It prolly made 400 hp in my el cam. It was just a heavy beast. Once I got into turbo 4 cylinder cars I realized I could make the power and have an economical car. As long as I stay off boost I get about 25-27 mpg. The awd just dominates on the street.

You deffenitely need some more fuel. I would like to go sbc but do everything I do to these little cars. Then I will have something serious.

I'm not interested in paltry theft. Besides, I'll now be growing weed for a living. In this country that would make me a professional criminal.

this is too f....ing unreal. I am in love with cars....though my preference is for old foreign exotics, Ferraris, Maseratis, and Porsches. Ok ok....now for the real kicker. I'm a wildlife biologist....work mostly with large mammals....carnivores and ungulates. Grizzly bears and Mountain Goats my fav. Wow....what a dichotamy or irony!!! for all of us though....a good buzz is a good buzz.

Im a computer technician but if things around here go well i might be one of the first persons to open a growshop and a coffeshop in this country...its funny how how the experiences that life puts u through makes u change your mind about the options that u make, cause i´m pretty sure if i was 16yo again i would try to get a degree in Botanics not in Computer Science...anyway i´m loving this "gardening" experience more each day...thank u all 4 helping out...Peace and Pot
