When do u mist?

I usually water my plants, someone suggested I mist them, when and with what? Thanks

There is a whole recent thread on misting here. I have always misted as I have a low humidity problem. Other people think it's from the devil.

Before the lights come on. Water or a foliar solution.

Might not hurt if you have a good fan going and they dry quick. Otherwise not a good idea for them to stay wet a long time: mildew, mold fungus etc.

no, do it a fist light, or just before, so they have all day to dry out well, tho leave em to drip off a bit (10 minutes) before you Etc. trow em in under the 1000W agin ..

mist em under the leaf`s, as it is there the pores of the plant/leaf`s is located and where it "breath", mist with as fine a mist as possible (some bottles have a tip you can turn around to make it more or less)

you can add a water agent like Wed Betty or Yucca or similar (some even use disc soap) this will break the water tension so the plant can take up the water more easy ..

you can also add nutrients, need to be a liquid one and you only go 1/2 strength as you would in your soil, by misting you provide them with instant nuts, so works well if you have a defiance etc.

it is mostly in the early stages of the seedlings life and maybe in Veg it can be usefull to mist, specially if your struggling with low humidity (less then 40% IMO) if you have a RH over 50% you shouldn't even bother unless you want to add some nuts fast, in flowering its a no go, can lead to mold and Bud rot, not summating we want ..

I never mist right before lights come on most will yellow no matter how strong the nutes. Only right after light turns off, and I only do it if they are 1 yellowing and 2 sometimes I like to get them super dark green right before flowering so all the ppm in my feeding schedule come from flowering nutes and not nitrogen, some plants suck the the n up really hard first couple weeks. And never ever spray if there are buds cause u can't flush that out and buds will crackle when smoked. Just my opinion I could be wrong.

like slipon said, it drys the buds/leaf out. The stomata will be open. There's no guarantee of the stomata being open just after lights out.
very true, you don't want to spray your buds with the foliar, Just the leaf. I have a schedule, 3 days spraying water, 4th day foliar. You wash alot of the over sprayed nutrients away from the foliar. The plants love the daily shower.

I haven't misted my plants in years. Never saw a benefit from it.

me nighter, tho as small seedlings in Cup`s I use a spray bottle to mist the soil and Im sure some ends up on the plants as well, but I also have a RH on around 40% +-5 most grow, so might help em a bit wile there root net is underdeveloped, but once in bigger Pot`s I just water, and all my nuts go in the soil, either with the water on mixed in with the soil to start with (like to mix organic soil myself)
