When to flip to 12/12

Hi,

My Shiva skunk plant is 4 weeks old.
I want to know when I should be looking the flip it to 12-12.
Ignore the little yellow patches it was from a cal def last week but sorted now new growth looks good and is growing quickly!

Growing in coco with canna a+b using a 200w cob led.
Tent is 2m high and 1m square at the base.

Temps and room humidity are perfect

Any advice would be good want highest yield possible don’t mind vegging longer.

you can flower any time you want man. will the plant be too big? will I be able to feed it, water it, light it, provide air flow, temp controls, ac, heat, how much do I want to yield?
with perfect controls your final yield will be determined by your vegetative cycle length

I grew Shiva Skunk some years back. And it continually stretched for the first 5-6 weeks of 12/12. The entire flower cycle was just over 12 weeks. So you should probably come up with a plan to train it down. Be it LST or a screen. I would do any topping before the flip.

I topped it couple of days ago and and it’s doing really after.

I’m going to start training it and the scrog the shit out of it.

Depends how much vertical space you have man, remember that plant is probably gonna triple in size when flowering! Check your space and work with it! If scrogging then the plant shouldn’t get too tall and you’ll get a better yield if it’s healthy bongsmilie

You can keep it in growth for as long as you want. Think about the farmers in northern California who start their plants indoors in February, transplant outdoors in April-May and harvest monsters in Croptober.

Just keep in mind that your plants will stretch when you flip them to 12-12. The more Sativa the strain, the bigger the stretch.
For hybrids like your Shiva Skunk, it will probably double in size.

The goal is to fill up your grow tent. If it's your only plant, top it off or pinch the top so it becomes a bush and then flip it to 12-12 when it's about 15" tall with a lot of secondary branches.

If you're going for heavy training you're looking at a longer veg time. Be aware of this.
I have seen myself go 12 weeks veg mainlining, before flipping into flower.

Best tip I can give you is don't rush it! Take your time to make a nice big plant that uses the space and light you have available.

There is no worse feeling than rushing your veg and ending up with a dwarf plant only throwing you a few ounces

Yes Slinkysaurus is right.

That way you will give your plant the shape you want it to have and you're not going to waste your space and electricity on a small one-bud plant.
