When To Start Flowering?

My 3 Bubblelicious girls are a little over a month old, and are from 14" to 16" tall and are looking great, starting to bush out...looking way better than I ever thought they would for my first grow. Growing under T5's. I'm going to flower under T5's too (3000K). But I'm wondering when to start flowering? Now, or give them another week or two?

say they 10inchs high , well ... really it all depends on you how high you want them, if the max height is 40 inchs, then wait till they are 20 inchs then force them to 12/12

Just keep in mind they will double if not more in size.

So when they are half as tall as I would ultimately like them to be....I should switch to flowering?

Yes, that's a good estimate.

Also, as I said....I am planning on flowering under T5's, 4 bulb....I'm just going to switch out the cool white veg bulbs that I'm using now with 3000K warm bulbs. I have a brand new 400w HPS lamp, but I'm a little leary of it now, on my first grow. My room is only about 6' x 4' with 8' ceiling and although it's fine for the T5's, I'm afraid that the HPS will make too much heat and I don't have enough time to do a better vent job on this first grow. And I don't want to risk burning these babies up, they look so good and healthy. Am I going to lose quality of my bud by staying with the t5's? I'm not concerned with quanity on this first grow, so yeild isn't that big of a deal....just want it to turn out good.

That's a pretty good size area for a 400w, I think if you have enough air movement you'll be fine.

I would definitely run the HPS over the T5s for quality.

400w hps over T5's anyday
like 420 said if you get an oscillating fan (assuming you dont have 1 already) blowing air between light and tops of plants you shouldn't have any problems .

Yes 400 hps will give you a larger yield in flowering than the t5's by theory . Whats your temps with the t5 running?

If you are planing another grow it might be handy to take some snips for clones, if you've got room. If you do clone be sure to code so you know what snip came from which plant. I use colored thumb tacks to track my plants to their clones. You can start budding after the plant gets good first adult leaves or you can veg. It depends on your lighting and your style of grow.

I had thought about that Bird, but being a complete newbie, I'll probaby just stick to getting a somewhat successful first grow and maybe try my hand at clones on the next grow. Thanks for the advice.
