Where did "breath" strains originate?

It is interesting to read about the one Jamaican Lambsbreath submitted on Phylos.
I use "breath", because Lambsbread makes no sense at all. The breath from a lamb would be expected to be very gentle on your lungs, palate, etc. In Christianity and Rastafari Jesus is referred to as The Lamb of God. I believe the Jamaican accent makes it difficult for some others to understand. Also, some Jamaicans might say lambsbread because over time that is what it has become.

They made little excuse for for being carpetbaggers. Though in one episode, maybe somewhere in Africa, some of locals get pretty fired up about halfway through the video when I'm sure somebody figured out they were essentially being robbed.

I don't know much about their gear, other than hearing it's not so great, but they shot some entertaining video.

I could see that, my ex wife and her family are from the Caribbean. With their accent "lambs breath" would sound more like "lambs bret". Especially the ones still from the mother land with the thick patois accent.

That’s because gromer was a tester for gage green and used a mendo breath male that was a golden ticket male f2 he called studly spewright, then a selected f3 called uncle fester, then f4 known as lurch. But ultimately that’s the connection on those two breeders, it’s a bit of bad blood. Some copycat types of things have happened since and there are other “breath” strains that are unrelated so that’s not confusing.

So Gromer was a tester and found studly that way? I was under the assumption he hunted a pack.

Ya, they were at first but got popular. Then their prices went up. They couldn’t keep their stompers in stock no matter how much they charged.
My shitty opinion is that it went to their head, ggg is now just a consortium of jealousy, really ever since the gromer incident they act like they don’t want you to grow their beans, unless you want to dick ride them, of course.

If they are sold out that fast usually it will happend but to raise price of pack to were it's at now is ridiculous. Gromer found something special in their gear and they got jealous it wasnt them? That's kind of how I took it since I never really knew what happened between them

Jeff is generally bitter dude, I guess he got taken for some genetics early in his career which set the tone for where they are today.

I'm sure ggg has very special male genetics as well. I mean Gromer's original male(studley spewright) came from ggg. To me-not alot of people are going to mess with ggg charging those very high prices. From what I've seen ggg does put out absolute heat, they're just not a hyped of breeder at the moment.

Gromer also got really lucky, its like the stars aligned for him. His timing was great(striking while its hot, as they say)..with covid he got a bunch more sales/online traffic- with people milling around the house on computers alot more, making purchases...his retirement announcement brought a lot of attention to thugpug as well...his big following here(riu)...also he has a somewhat strong social media game which is a plus these days if you're in the seed game. Gotta say, it was nice to see a smaller dude/breeder like gromer/thugpug take off as opposed to all the over-hyped big$$$ crews like cookies fam, jungle boys, and seed junky type breeders/seed co's. I always considered Gromer a growers grower. He's one of us.

It is clear that GGG has fire genetics and I dont agree with it I think its pure greed but the price makes their gear kind of exclusive some could say. I am not one.

Gromer may have hit the mega millions finding studly in the tester pack of GGG gear. I think what set him apart was as you said he stayed humble and provided quality gear for cheap.
