There actually is a scenario that would lead to world chaos, economic collapse. The island of La Palma in the Canary Islands, scientists have been there for years trying to predict when the remainder of the island will collapse into the Atlantic. It's happened once before, and the tsunami would go undetected by our sensors until about 6-8 hours before wreaking havoc. Florida would literally be erased from existence. Latin American countries would be hit hard as well, along with the Canadian coast and Europe etc. The world as we know it would end, even China would be thrown back 100 years b/c they would have no trading partners...same w/Japan etc.
Only means to stay afloat is by creating your own economy, cannabis and other stuff that can be used in the "Barter System".

Farm animals and near water in the middle of nowhere yall can eat your canned goods I got rabbit, chicken, duck, and plenty of wildlife and fish you won't see me living out of a can and oh yeah some nice outdoor strains that will finish up here and plenty others that will come close enough. I don't even need power I got a wood stove and trees only thing I need is veggies and I'm sure I could trade eggs and meat possibly some weed I'd be all set no need to lose any sleep for me and I'm not even a dumb ass prepper just another hillbilly. lol, I still have all my teeth though.

Farm animals are a part of my plans but they can be very susceptible to biological hazards in even the best conditions , also nuclear . Sanitation issues was the #1 killer thruout history untill about 120 years ago (still is in some places), when people generaly had a clue about how to handle waste products - Today people are clueless and generally live in much closer conditions
as far as wild life goes that will be exuasted fast , everybody will be out traping/hunting for as long as it lasts , Rember when it does happen all highly populated areas will see a mass exodus of people moving to more rural areas
when this happens the last place you want to be is in a unprotected area , their will be hoards of people ganging up robbing,stealing,rapping and doing what they see fit to survive. In my mind the only rational thing to do is bunker down and wait out the worst of it , in that case I need my Long Term Storage food and water
Off coarse none off this does any good if you cant protect it , Do you know a starveing man can smell famillar food for MILLES , Wood burning stoves are great and I even have them but they will give your postion away for miles , short term stored LP,alchool and such fuels are great but a wood gas generator is more realistic + it can be used to fuel gasoline powerd moters with carborators

well nukes or bio weapons start popping off I'm gone maybe grab a few rabbits but thats a big if. Also if the dollar suddenly dropped there would be soup kitchens I mean look at all the meat in the stores these farms aint gonna vanish and they'll have 2 choices provide for soup kitchens or die and once there dead the soup kitchens will have food anyway. plus I'm sure I'd have a small army I can't eat all the eggs let alone fish and with a small army nobody will hunt my mountain unless they live there and I'm not even the only farmer on this mountain and everyone I know has guns and if it got that bad we could just take out the bridge then they need too walk miles up a mountain for a hunch dodging pungy pits and armed guards also dogs unless its after a ruff winter but I'll eat anything skunk, coyote, fox, quail, theirs plenty of game I'll have snares up and all.
we'll be good eating good and smoking better that will save everyone's sanity being stuck on a mountain all that time should be fun I'd love to live off the land no taxes no need for money just keep the mountain safe someone comes begging I'll feed there kids. but anyone comes this far north with nothing but a gun they won't last the winter they will starve, freeze, get sick and die you can't survive the winters not without food shelter and fire the dead of winter your stuck without a pair of snow shoes. now down south is another story nice whether Orange groves, deer, fish, bear, there is a lot more food if I was a city boy I'd go south not north winter sucks and I'm sure most will realize they can't survive our winters so really the first winter you'll need to watch out second winter anyone who was desperate will have died off the first winter so no more troubles.

This is not a knock against anyone here but I've thought about this scenario quite deeply and I find myself at an impasse. Some think that if the world were to collapse, that it is very simply a chance to hideout and wait, fully armed and somewhat fueled {food & water}. To me that is a unrealistic view of the true horror which would ensue, I will agree, admit that there are some who are more prepared then others but I've got ask you this.
What are you preparing for?
For the world left behind would be unrecognizable and totally alien, there would be more to it then just keeping the machine {body} alive, the intellectual devastation alone is enough to cripple most let alone the combination of all external stresses.
My impasse: Do I try and survive, meek out an existence in this extremely hostile environment or do I except the one only truth...everyone dies, so why not now?

I think a meek existence is subjective. For some a world without wifi would be meek, these types will be the first to mentally crumble. If I had to shelter in a cave and build a leanto then start building a log type home deep in the woods to exist I would consider my existence not meek as long as I had love with me. The appreciation for those around us and close to us often goes overlooked until they pass and that love is no longer able to be reciprocated.
Everyone dies why not now is a question that can be addressed almost everyday. Why hit your breaks if someone pulls out in front you? Why not just cross a busy street with impunity? Everyone dies why not now? Purpose right? I guess if I were alone my view would differ but I rather enjoy giving myself to those that I love.
