where would you go?...

I think a meek existence is subjective. For some a world without wifi would be meek, these types will be the first to mentally crumble. If I had to shelter in a cave and build a leanto then start building a log type home deep in the woods to exist I would consider my existence not meek as long as I had love with me. The appreciation for those around us and close to us often goes overlooked until they pass and that love is no longer able to be reciprocated.

Everyone dies why not now is a question that can be addressed almost everyday. Why hit your breaks if someone pulls out in front you? Why not just cross a busy street with impunity? Everyone dies why not now? Purpose right? I guess if I were alone my view would differ but I rather enjoy giving myself to those that I love.
Thanks kinetic, as always a well thought out response and one I happen to agree with.
My post was in a more apocalyptic sense, in that the devastation was not simply implied but factual, as in nuclear fallout conditions. Yes it is an extreme view but I sometimes think in extremes, though I do my damnedest to avoid such scenarios, as I sure most would, save for certain ideological malcontents which seem to run things nowadays.
The scariest thing about these mental exercises is that some are based in fact and have the capacity to come to fruition.

Yes I'm buzzed right, so what lol

Seems like you answered your own question, love? Curiosity for life, family, the desire to accomplish the way of life you truly want to live... plus you can't help shape the world into a better place from the grave. I fully believe that we're spiritual beings having a human experience as opposed to the other way around. Physical matter doesn't exist without the presence of a conscious observer. Your mind literally creates reality.

The great Taoist master Chuang Tzu once dreamt that he was a butterfly fluttering here and there. In the dream he had no awareness of his individuality as a person. He was only a butterfly. Suddenly, he awoke and found himself laying there, a person once again. But then he thought to himself, "Was I before a man who dreamt about being a butterfly, or am I now a butterfly who dreams about being a man?"

If there was a nuclear fallout, wouldnt that shit blow all over the globe? There must be a map of what areas would be more/less susceptible to this. I just hope I can graduate and make enough money to prepare before anything crazy happens.. if anything went down right now I'd be fucked lol.

Keeping in mind, that US $$ would be worthless. Cannabis on the other hand, has value in the world economy regardless. Now if only I could figure out a means for indefinite storage.:weed: Then it would be off on the sailboat, where water will keep me much safer than land.
I think living on a sailboat at sea would be terribly boring, except for terrifying hours or days of storms.

Any plan is better than none Farm animals are a part of my plans but they can be very susceptible to biological hazards in even the best conditions , also nuclear . Sanitation issues was the #1 killer thruout history untill about 120 years ago (still is in some places), when people generaly had a clue about how to handle waste products - Today people are clueless and generally live in much closer conditions as far as wild life goes that will be exuasted fast , everybody will be out traping/hunting for as long as it lasts , Rember when it does happen all highly populated areas will see a mass exodus of people moving to more rural areas when this happens the last place you want to be is in a unprotected area , their will be hoards of people ganging up robbing, stealing, rapping and doing what they see fit to survive. In my mind the only rational thing to do is bunker down and wait out the worst of it , in that case I need my Long Term Storage food and water Off coarse none off this does any good if you cant protect it , Do you know a starveing man can smell famillar food for MILLES , Wood burning stoves are great and I even have them but they will give your postion away for miles , short term stored LP,alchool and such fuels are great but a wood gas generator is more realistic + it can be used to fuel gasoline powerd moters with carborators
Rapping to survive? You going to be a modern day strolling minstrel?

I'm not going to worry about world collapse. My continued existence is dependent on modern pharmacology. I'd die rather quickly without my meds and they're not the type one can grow in their backyard. I been close enough to death that I no longer fear it.

Switzerland because they don't seem to bother anyone. But then, Russia is a place that won't extradite you. Wherever I went, I'd protest on street corners about their teachers not speaking English to my kids, because that's something I learned in America. Go to a new place and act like everyone should bend over for you. Bam, healthcare and residency.

Nobody needs meds to survive, but the lifestyle changes that would have to be made for many to cure their ailments/diseases is one that most don't have the will power to do, or falsely believe it won't make a difference anyways. It's understandable but unacceptable (in my eyes, anyways). It's understandable because energy may be low, doctors have "tried everything" (which really just means kept giving you different drugs, so very miniscule efforts), and it may be an inconvenience.... but more of an inconvenience than having to pop pills for the rest of your life while never truly being cured? How can a natural being need to take something unnatural everyday in order to survive?

I say this a lot (because many people still don't understand the connection), but you MUST change your diet if you want to become healthier. There's no other way around it. People care so much about what type of fuel goes into their car while neglecting the type of fuel they put into their body. People are eating fast "food", processed "food", gmo's... just poisoning themselves, and then wonder why they have depression, or anxiety, or diabetes, can't lose weight, or problems w/ digestion, etc. Pretty much any food with a commercial is filled with garbage and non-nutrition.

Why does she have life threatening seizures? It's a combination of lifestyle factors, but diet is the foundation of health. Diet, physical activity, avoiding environmental pollution and stress, sunlight/spending time in nature... all factors. Using diet to heal the body is much different than just "eating healthy". Raw fruits and veggies, super foods, proper supplementation, and detoxing techniques (juicing, fasting, colon hydrotherapy, sauna, etc.)... but like I said, most people don't have it in them to make that change. People eat so much fake and cooked food nowadays that they think eating raw fruits and veggies is weird, but if you kill an animal, slaughter it, process the meat, and then toss its flesh on a grill at extremely high temperatures... that's "normal". Fucked, just fucked. Eating purely for taste and convenience while avoiding nutrition will result in body toxicity, which leads to chronic disease.

What an interesting thread. I love talking about this shit with friends, especially while stoned. Haha :weed:

Okay, so I would do what many others have mentioned. And that is go somewhere rural, homestead it, and become an off-the-grid, self-sustainable farmer. You know...solar panels, harvest wind energy, etc. Grow your own food, blah blah blah. And of course, grow some nice outdoor weed.

The safest places I've research for when the world, and America, goes to hell is Alaska (but you must REALLY hardy and able to deal with the winters). And I'm not talking about if you like winter or not. I'm talking about can you survive an Alaskan harsh winter, like a true frontiersman could.
I think it is completely laughable when I read people saying that they would go to the Dominican Republic or some poor country.
Umm, those rioting peasants are going to raid your house dummy once the hunger becomes unbearable!! :wall:

I would highly recommend download this book for free. It's called  Strategic Relocation. (Click the title) It's like a coffee-table book/reference guide of where to go in the world in case of an emergency.
Also here is a documentary based on the book (below)
It is basically a country-by-country analysis of where it is safe. Most people said Uruguay, and that is one of the book's top picks, but speaking Spanish is essential because only the young urban educated speak English as a second language.
The book picks northern Idaho as the best. So who knows....

For me personally, I would go to New Zealand. For various reasons, and also because I plan on moving their regardless of the global political climate one day. But it is expensive to emigrate there, so I better save my pennies. ;-)

But if I were to live off the land in the good ole U-S of A, then I would move to Humboldt County, California or Vermont. Only because I like it there.

But once poor people, or people who have become poor based on the Apocalypse (sort of like Children of Men [good movie] or Book of Eli [stupid movie]) they are all going to fan out into the wilderness in search of food and what-not. So you truly have to be off the beaten path. Away from major highways, urban centers.
Hard to get to secluded, isolated parts of the country.
So anyway, like I said. I like talking about this shit because it's fun and scary at the same time. Which makes it eerie too, becuase it all could potentially happen one day. Who knows.....:peace:

What makes any of you even think that you could survive a catastrophe of such magnitude, taking specifically individualistic measures? Collectivism made survival much more effective, different tasks were done faster and better. I wouldn't venture on my own like that, I live surrounded by people that can do a lot of things, like working the land or breeding livestock for example. That'd be pretty helpful.

Yes, but what about if a totalitarian government took power.
There are others things beside a nuclear holocost.
And the atomic bomb ended WWII, what is such a bomb startef a war, making it just the beginning.
Also, I'd rather be independent, than assume people around will come together and unite.
I dont know how they are gonna act, but I know how I will.
I am in complete agreement with GotAnyWeed with thid one.
