I dunno, I mean I'm all equal rights and such, which is exactly why when someone comes along with a different opinion, I may disagree and tell them why, but it's their right to have and voice their own opinion, just as it is mine.

Equality means equal for all, not just those you agree with.

Well, thanks for the rep and whatnot, but I still disagree with you. People like what they like, it just IS that way. I can't explain why I like to sleep on my side other than...I like it. I don't know why I find the women attractive that I do, it just is. And I don't believe that anything I have to pay the State Government for (like a marriage license) should be allowed to be influenced by religious morals or beliefs. Once the State made money, in my views, it was open to any set of consenting adults that wanted it. If a 25 year old dyed blonde bimbo can marry an 81 year old geezer for his money, then why the hell can't two men or two women marry each other for love? NOW, if marriage was still strictly a religious ceremony they might have a leg to stand on, because religion can be like that, but it's not. But that's my own views, and nothing says you have to share them.

And yet you have failed to see that in order to reciprocate we, as a group, must not be given ultimatums. There is no give and take with you, no such exchange, there must be a willingness to concede and to know when you've gained equal footing.

Funny you mention history. As history shows us that homosexuality was considered normal for thousands of years. Only until recently, in the past few hundred years has it become abnormal, and only until the past 50 or so years has it become taboo.

No, he did apologize; it's "prima facie". He got jumped all over because of his opposition to gay/lesbian marriage - by gays and lesbians, so the vested interest was due to their proclivities, not to any other matter.
