I am looking for some advice on which type of coco to use for a flood and drain setup, coco coir? coco croutons? etc? which would be best for a flood and drain set up??

Anyone have any good grow journals using coco in a flood and drain set up????

I already set up for flood and drain and have decided I would like to try coco.. I will be using three gallon pots lined with screens to make sure the majority of coco stays where it should....

I have 2 4x8 trays, 4x1000 watt, 120 gallon res.....

Thank You!!!

In my opinion coco isn't good for flood and drains as well as something like rockwool. Lining pots with screens will possibly hinder airflow and root growth. Why not just grow them in 6"-8" rockwool cubes? I've been doing a bunch of research for my flood and drain tables and people using 6" rockwool cubes with flood and drain are growing amazing bud. Besides, coco holds a bunch of moisture, so flooding and draining would be more of just being lazy at watering :P

Just my 2 cents, I planned on using coco until I looked into it more.

Not true, I thought the same. but while visiting my local grow shop they had a aqua ponics flood and drain table set up. You just have to add some layers of hydroton maybe get a pump sock to put around your drains. I thought it would plug shit up too but the way they had it set up was working.

That's quite a bit of maintenance when you could just get some rockwool :P

And I'm all for Coco in DWC, I have no local hydro shops and hydroton would be a lot of money if I needed some shipped, but coco is cheap so it would be my best bet.
