Ok chaps
I'm just wondering which boards are better ?
A , a board with the lm301h OR
B , a board with the lm301b
What's ppl's thoughts .

Thanks mate .
I'm waiting on a new board with lm301h but it says only 100 degree angle where as the lm301b has a angle of 120 degrees . I will be using quantum board for first time .
Will these compare with hps for quality .
The board ordered is a 480w with uv and ir .
The hps is 600 - 660 super

where did you see it was 100Deg beam, datasheet on both says 120Deg?

Do a search, this has all been covered here many times. The beam angle of the lm301h is also 120 degrees, not 100.
H and B are literaly the same diode, but H is only sold in top bin and B is sold in several bins including top bin.
Beam angle is the last spec on page 3.

That and there is an anti sulfur coating on the H version

I was sure I read that the angle was 100 degrees on the H , but anyhow thanks for that .
Looks like I must of miss read .
Maybe it was for other diaode from different qb .
But thanks for putting me right .

Yeh mate .
Didn't relise there was a heap of info in the led section until after I posted .
Cheers mate

I am sure this has been discussed many times but the LM301B and LM301H are the same part. The absolute proof is that the LM-80 dataset applies to both LM301H and LM301B. The only difference to highlight between LM301B and LM301H is the color temperature binning. LM301B has tighter color binning options available which are usually not needed for horticulture applications.

On another item to note, is that LM301B has the option to be built in Vietnam to avoid tariffs. LM301H only has China as COO. Hope this helps!

These strips that you linked are not comprised of lm301h diodes. The series name is 'H' but that has nothing to do with lm301h diodes. Their efficiency is significantly less than lm301h, they state they are 159 lm/w or 2.7 umol/j, whereas the lm301h are 220 lm/w or 3.10 umol/j.

This is from the datasheet:

Do you guys and girls think a quantum board 480 with uv and fr would out do a 600w - 660w hps . ?
I waiting on this new board and the start new set of seeds off . I've grown with hps for years and have probs hit over the twenty oz mark repeatedly .
Costs a fortune with hps and thought I'd try the qb .
The board has the lm301h diaode .
What would you guys expect from a light of that power .
Thanks

Depends on your environment (LED grows should be warmer than HID), but in optimal conditions, yes. Personally I would exclude the IR and FR from the board, and supplement that separately on different timers. I don't like my IR or FR running all day long.

Thanks mate , so I do have things pritty good controlling environment . Yeh I've heard about leaving uv and fr out . So if things are in good conditions I should expect 20+ .
Thanks
