white widow first ever try

Unless you can't afford the electricity(which isn't bad with only one light) or you have crazy heat issues, LED is not worth your money. An HID light system will far out perform most if not all LED systems. I can't speak about the absolute newest best LEDs, but I've been watching LED grows for the 5 years I've been on RIU, and it never stacks up to HID. LED can produce some beautiful frosty buds, but you will not get the best yield and you don't get the light peneration to fill out lower buds. So the tops are real nice bud, but the lower you get on the plant the fluffier they get. I've seen several guys use LED just to veg and then flipped to HID and had great results, but flowering with LED is inferior.

your 200w cfl is it an actual grow cfl, or a 200w equivalant? If its an actual grow cfl I think your fine, if its a 200w equivalant I'd just use a few of them. My girls veg under 8 26w spiral cfls, and I keep them about 6 inchs away but not until the plants have one real set of leaves. Before that I keep it about 10-12 inchs away.

I don't know if those sodium lights are the same as an HPS, but those are a red spectrum light which is better for flowering. Adding those for flower would likely help improve things, it may even help with veg.

They took about 3 days to pop out of the ground. started the seeds directly into soil

Earlier generations of LEDs were no good which has given them a bad rep with some people. Modern LEDs using good bulbs are very good and have spectrums tuned for growth, and you can find many grow journals out there to back this up.
Im running a 180w LED i got off ebay that used cree 3w bulbs over 4 plants. so far im really happy with it, my plants havent streched and are growing well. i plan on adding a second 180w light at the end of the month so id have 2 plants under each one. i also have 2 39w 3 foot t5 HO tubes for supplemental lighting.

right away man! they only need darkness to crack their shell, then they grow towards the light immediately.

Ya I put them under light while they germinate so that as soon as they are above ground they have light and don't stretch. I keep the light 10-12 inchs above them till they have a real set of leaves and then lower it to 4-6 inchs above them.

They do NOT need darkness to germinate. Where do you come up with this shit.
really? i was getting yelled at about trying to figure this out, and it was pounded into my head that cannabis seeds need dark to germinate?

i mean..it is dark in the soil, and the light only comes from one direction

They should have pounded with hammers.

Cannabis seeds do not need darkness to germinate.
Roots do not like light.

If you can find a cheap hps at your hardware store then definitely add it to the cfl. I'm running a 1000 hps with a 300w LED and she loves it.

You could also pick up a cheap 400w HID setup for flowering if you were so inclined. You can get a 400w for under 200 easy, and that will flower you out some nice ass buds.

run the fluor..it will produce good flowers, its a high quality light, if you keep the plant short. fluors dont have good penetration. if the plant gets really tall, consider lollipopping it right before you switch to 12/12, or adding side lighting with cfls.

you should get a 2700k bulb during flower anyway. just side light with soft white cfls.

cute puppies, awesome light! take that dome off, its blocking light and co2!! you only need high humidity for germinating and cloning. even then, we make holes in our domes :P

i would get that light 6" away from the plant.

Yo man, take a fistfull of soil and bury that seedling right up to the first leaves, it will start rooting from the stem higher up, and try and keep a fan on them so they have a nice thick stem for holding some heavy buds...
ANd dont keep you're seedlings soil too wet man, looks like you are giving them alot of water thats not needed.

Ohh and i realy enjoyed that picture of you're floor keep it up man.
