If the plant still has a lot of neuts, it 'can' turn into a harsher smoke. Also could be harder to burn. If the weed is flushed properly, when you smoke a bowl, or a joint, the ashes should be an even grey color. If the ashes are black / mostly black, then it was not flushed properly.

This is what I'm talking about...and you cook the food you eat which breaks down minerals and generally improves the taste. So cooking is like flushing to marijuana. So when you burn your stash it's like cooking it but the smoke goes into your mouth and isn't left in the pan or behind or bonded. I mean if you could cook you weed longer then the minerals would naturally break down and bond with other things so the taste would improve. And after all is said and done it's taste we are talking about. I hate spinach...fuck popeye

I have grown SLH since it hit the market and I am still growing out the same plants clone after clone. I have tried both flushing and not flushing and the finished product is the same. Its all about how its cured my friend. Now what i do is at week 6 i will ""flush"" my 3 gallon pots with 6 gallons of water not becasue i have too but my plants tend to like it and continue my feeding until 3 days before harvest where i let then absorb whats left in the soil. Work with your plants and find out what they like. If you are a strain hopper its really hard to dial in on what they like....

ive been told that plants full of neuts is bs. any chemical fert is chemically altered upon entering a plant, changed to sugars and what not. a plant can be fed miracle gro the day before harvest and you wouldnt be smoking miracle gro. as for the feeding causeing the plant to have more stored sugars and starches which cant affect smokability is a valid point. a few days of washing away stored nutrients in the soil and letting the plant use most of its stored food may or may not affect the taste of your buds(personal preference). in fact as the plant comes to the end of its life without reproducin its natural instinct is to produce more resins and what not in hope of pollenation and a little stress(over feeding) and food could and will bolster a harvest slightly and still be able to run str8 water for a few days or not at all. again personal pref. in fact takin the source of food and giving str8 water can revert a plant back to veg hinderin the production in the final 2 weeks. this comes from a seasoned and educated grower and have stuck to it and couldnt be any happier. i keep my plants fed til 3 waterings before harvest then straight water for 3 rounds then let soil dry out and drop humidity also. the taste a smokability comes in drying and curing the most overlooked aspect of good pot growing.

thats right cuz soil is a natural buffer. you must flush a hydro system or your smoking nutes

you don't no much.. then its hydro ur smoking

no? (i No plenty often) I grow both ways in all reality, but soil is no buffer, more of a strorage than anything. i notice a diffeenece wen i flushed my blu widow compared to wen my buddy i gave clones of it, he grew them in soil also. a flush is a must in my book and it makes a world of a difference.

No that's like saying bud taste like blood. And if you load on iron it will affect the taste. The whole purpose of this thread was does flushing help the taste and the simple answer is yes. Just pointing out that there are parts of the animal that do taste like iron. It was to show that no answer is that simple and flushing isn't either. Don't flush dirt taste good. Good growing
The simple answer is no. Flushing DOES NOT improve taste. You are simple wrong. Bet you dry till the stems snap too.....Drying and Curing is an art in itself. Thats were flavor and aroma come from. The plants do not take up raw chemicals, certain processes and chelations take place before nutes actually become food.
And by reading your posts Ken I would say you are on the right track and understand how to finish a plant.

Poison? Where? That is nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium that the plant absorbs, not pesticides. When I pick my tomato that has miracle grow fertilizer in the soil I am eating poison? Odd how it keeps the plant alive so well then.

I feed my tomatoes pig, cow and horse shit. They do not taste like shit.
Feed my weed lots of worm, bat, bird shit. Nor does it smell or taste of shit. Bet you believe Bonts, Sweet line can change the flavor of your bud...."Here's Your Sign..."
Lots of folks need to learn a bit more about botany.
