Who here does NOT FLUSH!

I don't flush, I usually just give them nothing but water for the last week-week and a half of flower before chop. I grow in fox farms, the only other nutes i use are a fish emulsion of 4-1-1. a bloom formula of 0-10-10, and grandmas unsulphured molasses. Never had any problems with bad tastes or anything...
I actually just harvested 2 days ago :)

Also, guys, not aiming at anyone in particular, but stop being fucking snobs, no one wants to see someone brag and bitch and piss and moan about whos weed is better or who has more experience with what, this site is used to convey information from person to person. Besides the fact that the majority of us here smoke weed, or medicate in some other way, You'd think people wouldn't be so butthurt and angry on here all the damn time. (sorry for the rant but negativity pisses me off lol)

Okay.
In the interest of peaceful international relations, I volunteer to head a comprehensive study on the effects of flushing vs. not flushing.
I'll need a half-pound sample of dried & cured bud from each grower from both camps, once a month, for the next ten years, after which time I will compile my data and publish to the cannabis community (*for a mere $19.95 a copy).
With your help we can put this hot bed of mystery and intrigue to rest, once and for all!
Ask not what your country can flush for you, ask what you can flush for your country!

Send samples to:

Europe has the BEST weed. SAY NUFFIN. why do millions of americans end up in Amsterdam/rotterdam/spain....
Making a statement like that makes me believe that you have either never been to Europe or just don't know how to grow. So which is it?

It amazes me how many folks will proclaim thier "opinion" as fact and argue the merits of it ???

I flush every time I water, mother natures way, why I call my technique making it rain. But the term flush is a MJ forum term thus those that think or believe that farmers don't "flush" would be wrong try googleing leeching the soil. In other than MJ forums the proper term is leeching not flush :)

Those in this thread that are saying they can't tell the difference are a) growing properly and b) curing properly, those that that say they can tell a difference are not it really is that simple and anyone that says a flush is a must do, does not understand botany at all, there are no nutes in the plant and even if there was you can't flush em out. The plant converts nutes into sugars and complex carbs the curing process converts these into alcohol via fermentation (exact same process as making booze) if your bud snaps crackles & pops it means you have unconverted sugars left over (try burning a bit of sugar to see what I mean)

Curing really is an art and is the most important phase of assuring quality from your grow and the blackmarket commercial way of doing it is so very wrong, if you learn to do it right you will see for yourselves I am right and it is not my opinion I am flaunting here the research is well documented in my threads :)

If you are a new grower that is getting confused by all the myths and opinions found in these forums I invite you to read the threads in my sig, yeah it takes a few weeks but you will be glad you did in the end and you'll see why as you go. Since this thread is about flushing you should start with this one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/339103-wow-riddle-has-question.html

Understanding what actually occurs in the plant as a result of the things we do will make you a better grower and increase the quality of your buds dramatically!

Happy Growing

Got a link to 'leaching' as it applies to what the 'flushers' are talking about (ie, leaching salts at harvest)?

For what it is worth,.. I have a few observations about the quality of MJ around parts of the world..

As a traveling musician and one who has worked around parts of the world for over 40 years now, I have smoked and eaten a lot of cannabis.. from the Amsterdam coffee shops to the Irish pubs, to the Humbolts finest and even stuff we found in a ditch in Kansas (about 1969.. it was growing wild.. and it wasn't 'ditch' weed.. not much better, but it worked.

In the states I have lived primarily in Ca, Or, Co, Tx, Az and now reside in Montana.

I have been consuming grass for over 40 years in many places over the world. (by the way, I hate traveling, if I ever see the insides of another hotel it will be too soon).. and here are my observations.

Every place I have ever been has some really great weed.,.

I'vs smoked (which surprised me) crap in Texas that was as potent as the dutch's.

Who says California doesn't have good weed? It's not true.. they have some EXCELLENT weed.. in fact many of the dutch strains now, came out of Humboldt (as I understand it).

Oregon, Seattle, British Columbia.. they consistently have as good of product as one can find. (my guess is the climate there is particularly forgiving of cured product.. unlike Montana where a small bag of fresh will turn to hay in a day or two.. could be my imagination, but it seems that way).

But no.. I have a great friend (can't remember the name of his town.. industrial town down south east UK starts with an M.. I'll remember shortly.. he grows as good of dope as anyone. I have a friend in New York city who grows as good of weed as anyone. I have a friend who lives down in Central Mexico.. and don't think for a minute just because it is 'mexican' it isn't any good.. he grows as good of weed as anyone.

Just for what that is worth.. I think region can have a lot to do with quality as far as consistent environmental factors (like in Oregon it is consistently humid, but relatively moderate temps, vs Montana where it is snowing outside, below freezing for days, rapid humidity spikes and declines and then the next day 60 degrees.. even indoors such climate changes outside seem to be noticed by the girls inside. ESPECIALLY after cure.

--

Anyway, I am just rambling.. but there a re a lot of top notch growers cranking out great product just about every place I have been...seed banks are world wide at this point.. there is no reason with some educating ones self, a few trial and error grows, you too can't grow amongst the 'best cannabis in the world'.. no matter where you are at..

--

That said.. agre or not.. there is one other observation that has been bugging me..

There is much talk about how thc levels are 10 times (or whatever number_) as potent as weed grown decades ago..

But I dunno man.. I wonder if these people ever tried simple 'real' Columbian Gold, or Panama Red, or my favorite Tai Sticks (I actually used to get mine in San Jose in the mid 70's from an ancient man from Thailand who had his mailed to him from home every few weeks)...

I'd take ANY of those strains I haven;t seen around for decades, over (or at least side by side) with ANYTHING I have tried today..

The 'psychoactive' element of those strains for example, were out of this world.. you didn't just smoke it, sit on the couch and watch Gilligans Island with a big smile.. you would smoke it, and find yourself talking about God and the Universe at light speed.. just a totally different 'high'.. one I miss greatly.

Them be my silly SUnday thoughts.. thanks for indulging me.

Peace~!

here is one, not about harvest but does discuss potential loss in yields

http://www.itrc.org/papers/leaching/leaching.pdf
Farmers are of course concerned with the makeup of their soil each year and thus have it analyzed. I came across some interesting papers and articles through google as well about 'leaching nitrate' but none were in terms of 'leaching salts at harvest' which is what the 'flushers' think they need to do. I think 'leaching' is more about maintaining a healthy growing medium than it is about harvesting a 'smoother' or 'tastier' product.

Must say I totally agree on the old school strains blowing todays strains completely out of the water (so to speak) the breeders now breeding for taste and smell instead of actual high but to be fair it is the mistake of the consumers thinking that smell makes it better that caused this. The smell does not get you high :)

Why I flush every time I water :hump:

Plants that are finishing up don't need nor want nutrients. Also, makes the finished product harsh and chemmy.

No dedicated flushing for me. I typically reduce my organic nutes close to harvest and my weed has wonderful tastes.....which really shows in vaping....

Ok i have done a test on this subject......the plant I flush burn good and tast good ...the plant i did not flush got a little bigger and burned good also tast was good! So now i do not flush,i use only organic ferts .I was told and have read in different places is that the main problem is TO MANY nutes ,and that will make your smoke not burn ,like that joint you roll and light it 7 times to burn it!lol.dont wanna burn right?!A sighn of to many nutes, that could have been eliminated by good flushing weeks prier to harvest..ok!? thats just MO
And I do recamend Cha-Ching or like product from 5 weeks till end fatter more tasty buds yummm!!

For what it's worth, here's my two cents:

"Cannabis is a well-known accumulator plant that takes in heavy metals and sequesters toxins in vacuoles, which are impermeable. The heavy metals remain toxic. Cannabis was planted around Chernobyl, the toxic nuclear site in russia, to absorb toxic heavy metals."
