Awe im back,

And i have another question: I just flushed my plants, growing in coco peat, perlite, with additives. Now on the runoff water there are these little white lice/animals/creatures that jump around on the water. They are very very small. Can someone please tell me what they are? Would like to go read if they are doing good or harm to my plants.

hello, ive been doing some research and thought id ask for your two cents on this

I am setting up my room right now that is 11x8 with a 5x8 section I have partitioned off. the large flowering chamber will have 4 1000w hps bulbs and the veg room will have one 400w halide.
I found a deal 65$ combo for 1000 hps ballast and bulb, I dont have too much money to spend but want to be serious about this.
due to budget limitations, and being that one of my main priorities this grow (having learned my lesson last time) is to have temp and humidity controlled digitally, I am leaning towards buying a large ac unit and hanging the bulbs with no hoods. Can I get away with this realistically or should I just buy air cooled hoods?
Also should I have the bulbs hanging or should I get some batwing shades or some sort of reflectors?

I am planning to do a drip feed system, what medium would you reccomend? also what about timing?
I am thinking about using coco and pumping 8 times per day

I have been told that 12,000 btu should keep the room cool, but I dont want to order a unit and be disappointed later.

thanks for any input anyone has, for weeks its been plan plan plan but oh so soon I will have an awesome journal on here!

You can but possibly at a greater electricity cost as the AC will work harder to cool the room
Also should I have the bulbs hanging or should I get some batwing shades or some sort of reflectors?

In most cases the reflectors boost lumen output by 30 to 50% so unless you are going verticle I advise using reflectors

Sounds good but I have no experience with drip feeding or coco, so perhaps others will chime in

a 12,000 btu ac unit will totally cool an 11X8 space

PS, I think 4 1000's is overkill for that space by the way

Yeah man, this shit is awesome, as I'm learning everything, i'm typing it all into word, I'm going to make an easy "all you need to know" guide to growing indoors for dummies! lol
You should read my threads, if you think this is awesome, these are just questions, in my threads I actually teach how to grow

Thanks for your thoughts. I raised the light about 4 inches. It was at 16". I'm using FF Ocean Forest with the FF recipe. I fed them 10 days ago with the FF transplant solution. I also used that solution to prepare the soil. I watered one week after transplant with a 50% FF veg solution. I ended up flushing the plant last night and it grew an inch overnight.

impossible to tell without pics. maybe bugs? i dunno, but rule of thumb is do not chop off any fan leaves unless they are greater than 50% damaged..

just to add.. ive had both and the best possible thing you can do is let your soil dry as quick as possible. point a fan at it if possible.. do these bugs fly?

no bugs that ive seen i check often , they are outdoor im in florida so the soil does dry pretty quick , n i would say only about 30% damaged ,,,and sorry for no pic getting better cam soon ,and thank you for the reply , i was just curious about if i should trimm those fan leaves off n ill leave it was just odd to me that it happend with in 2 days ,, wilted a lil n just browned up n crispy now, but the remaining leaf is very perky very deep green

aswell as the fungus gnat and the thrips i have looked n did not see anything only bugg that hangs around from time to time is a lady bug

So my plants are early in week 10 of 12/12 and I noticed on a couple of the plants that there are a fair number of sites where new pistils/white hairs that aren't trichomes are coming out. Whats the deal with that? I can't find any male parts on any of my plants so I don't think its a hermie thing.

If there are no bugs I wouldnt mess with the fan leaves.. It will do more damage than good. Now that u say that u live in FL and they are brown, the other option may be heat stress.. which I dunno how you can control outside :?

Hey check out my profile the picuters are up i don't know how to put them on this thread? Put four pictures of my problem see if you can help?

Should I mix half and half grow and bloom for the transition from veg to flower? Floranova grow and bloom, Kool bloom.
Should I gradually back down the "on time" of my lights? Or just flip em' in the morning?
Do you know anything about 24 to 36 hours of darkness before light switch?
It's my first indoor grow, thanks.

pistils/whitehairs are totally normal, she is trying to attract a boy and they will just keep commin if she is healthy
