Hey everyone I have 3 girls that are just 2 days shy of 4 weeks into flower. 2 dutch passion mazar and 1 akorn snowbud. The akorn snow bud is fine no brown hairs. The 2 mazar have some a couple bud sites where the hairs are turning brown. There are many many many bud sites and this only effect around 5 or less mid to lower bud sites. Included pic of the brown hairs and some other pics to get a general idea of it's beauty and health. Overall the look VERY healthy. I've looked everywhere for any signs of male flowers on the 3 plants I have an all clear. This has been going on for about 4 or 5 days. Is this normal on mazar?? It's way too early for the to start being ready. Trichomes just started to develop in the past week as you can see. The mazar are in 5 gallon smart pots of ocean forest. I feed twice a week other is a straight ph'd watering. I always ph my nute mixture as well. I was high on ec in the run off about 10 days ago around 3500ppm so I flushed and they are doing VERY well now. I just started them on tiger bloom last week and beastie bloomz this week. I stopped the grow big cause the others have enough nitrogen in them to get them through also still use big bloom. 1 400 watt air cooled tube in there with a hps bulb also have a high output t5 in there and a t8 all for extra lighting (ho t5 is 18,700 lumens alone). So anyways is this normal??? Like I said NO sign of male flowers.b.jpg1227131243.jpg1227131242b.jpg1223131458a.jpg

3500 ppm is way too high. Try 800-1200 ppm. The plants look good though. Hairs turn brown/reddish as the flowers matures. Less is more when using nutrients. Never use the recommended amount on the nutrient label. I've had excellent results using Fox Farm nutrients at 1/4 strength. Keep up the good work.

I wouldn't sweat it if everything else is in check. I've grown DP Mazaar but I don't remember. I'd say brown is just another shade of red if your plant is healthy otherwise.

absolutely i only go to about 1400 on the ppm when it says it should be 2100-2500 right now so i ALWAYS do less. i think the high run off was just a nute build up in soil

If your runoff was that high I would lean towards nute burn but if the overall health of the plant seems fine I wouldn't make too drastic of changes. Just do a plain water flush next time watering would be necessary then continue on normal with slightly lower nutrient levels. Happy growing hope it works out bud.

I disagree with the nute burn, do you have a fan running in your room? If so what i think we're looking at is friction burn! It happens when you have a fan blowing directly on your plant causing the fan leaves to brush across the top of the pistils causing a friction burn , its cool it'll be fine maybe tuck the fan leaf rubbing it so it won't rub across it if it bothers you that bad imo.

How could you with that high a PPM? Fan burn is a possibility but everything at the moment points towards nute burn.
Personally I have found anytime I have nute burned my plants it starts from the bottom up.

It just so happens there is an oscillating fan running quite near

See I still think the hairs were just a tad nute burned but others may think differently.

As you can see week 5 and still white hairs everywhere, week 7-8 should start to get orange hairs but on most strains they will fall off and regrow white and turn orange again unless you were pollinated or they are about ready to die (Autos)

If it was nute burn you would see it in the leaf tips. Some strain's pistol's start browning early. These are the first set that appeared. There will be more and more fresh pistols(flowers) week after week until they start ripening. Even late in bloom you will get another round of pistols. It's normal IMO. What are your temps like? high/low/average
