How do you sweat your buds and how long do you dry before hand???
Hey next time quote my post and I will see it sooner, sorry it took so long to get back to you.
What I do is after i chop, I hang the whole plant for 24hrs, then I remove all the fan leaves, leave for another 24hrs, then i trim everything slowly lol, get all sticky fingered roflol sorry Im having a fun morning. After that it hangs for 2 days, and gets cut down to trays, where it stays and gets rolled around a bit to get all sides crispy. Once the outside feel dry I jar it with a bodeva 62 pack(I got like 50 of these around lol) for no more than 4 hours, they are wet again at this point. Back out to the tray for as long as it takes to crisp up on the out side again, then back into the jar for 8hrs no more, then take it back out and tray it until it's dry to the touch all around and back in the jar, at this point I check the jars once a day, and the bud will come out once or twice more, usually I get 3 times out of the jar till I put it up to start curing, then I check them in a week and open the jar if necessary. After that it's all curing time without opening it, and I always get gooey centers, I then leave it out for say 5-8 minutes on my tray to crisp it a little and smoke down.
I like sticy icky icky. Disclaimer **** I have been doing this for 20 years, I can tell by looking at them how wet they are, it takes practice to get this right and you can possibly fuck yourself if done wrong, I fucked up one run. The weather changed abruptly, I had to jump on snow plowing and totally forgot to move them out of where they were (went from hot to freezing in 2 nights) and they molded up and went into compost, had no smoke for 3 months it sucked ass. This method takes some practice thats what I am saying. Peace, be safe MD.

Than for you reply ' some great info man I'm buzzing to try your method.
What humidity should they be when drying?? Is 50%/60%
Mine have been drying for 5days now and still have a nice texture and bounce also still nice and heavy just the smell is lacking at the moment ?? This is a cheese strain that might be more on the Afghan side of the cross maybe?? Hopefully everything will turn out ok

The guys in the outdoor section convinced me to just take the fan leaves and do a dry trim as needed. Wow oh wow....what a difference!!!
I mean sure after a good jar cure the smell does come back, but take that x2! I will never wet trim again! Makes harvesting huge amounts a lot easier too.

Funny thing I dont own a hygrometer, I have humidity meters on my grows but I go by feel and touch, if it's wet or too moist dump the jar for an hour and learn the feel. I am always around though. Peace, be safe MD.

Oh yeah if you can stand around and fondle it every so often you can learn just by feel. ;)

I'm curing with those Boveda moisture packs
Greetings. Those packs are for longterm storage not to stabilize the product. 62% is the spot 65 is the edge of too much.

Not really hard to get bud to hit 62-65 and get it to hold without packs. I stopped using packs to get it to cure zone. I use 1$ plastic non air tight tubs with a meter inside. Takes about 3-5 days to get it in cure zone and now it will stay there without packs. Wet trimming is not your friend. Somebody up there called it.

I've got them in the jars sweating them out a little to bring the moisture and smell out a little? The humidity in the jars is 80% after 6 hour? I pop the lid open until it falls back down to mid 50s and keep repeating until they hold steady is this OK ??? I'm a newbie grower but have all the time in the world to keep a eye on them

If they are at 80 in the jars you need to take them out to dry out for 12 -24 hours depending on humidity. Can cause mold if you leave them in jars that wet because the top buds get dry but the middle and bottom stays wet.

I put them on the rack for another 14 hours and now they are at 74% rh and smelling better. Tey are sticky and moist so should I take them out and rack them for a while until dry on the outside and jar again ' if it hits say 70%rh keep doing the same by burping and putting back on the rack to dry for a little until they hold at around 65%rh yes????

Yeah you got to get the moisture out or they will mold up on you soon and become useless. Keep rotating them out on the rack
or
put them in a shoebox with the meter inside and take the lid off when they hit 70. When they hit 60% in the box jar them and get a read.
