Will Obama Be a "Shoe-In"?

it could have something to do with their main labor force leaving the state after they drafted a draconian anti-immigration bill.

at least that's what the farmers say. i haven't heard one farmer blame "liberal college professors".

but what do i know, being a bearded marxist, right?

Whats a bearded marxist?

When people go into business, they should have a plan on how to harvest before they invest. IMO

?????? I was talking about jobs in South Carolina, and then you go off on a rant about crops rotting in Georgia.

what's that big state to the south with which south carolina shares a long border?

because all the farmers all bought their land and started this year :dunce:

some crops like cucumbers and cantaloupe need to be harvested by hand. the state drove away the labor force. none of the unemployed wanted to fill those positions, and they couldn't even force prisoners and parolees to do it.

do the illegals really "take our jobs", or do we let them?

Both. It depends on who you are asking.

If people in Georgia are able to refuse work and still collect benefits then that state is in for a long term recession.

Parolees dont get no benefits except for urine tests that if they dont pass they win free room and board in prison

If they don't want to work, then that should also be a free pass to prison. How are they able to turn down work?

And also, Buck included unemployed people in his post as well. How are they able to turn down work and still collect benefits?

Looking for work is a requirment for people on parole:dunce:

You're just a lazy socialist trying to find reasons why people on unemplyment and welfare should not have to work for what they get. Its not an immigration issue even though you would love for it to be one. YOU FAIL

you must have extensive experience on parole and finding jobs all over the place. a felony in your background check is a shoe in for positions every time.

Well if they are not finding a job, then they are obviously not looking for work.

How else can you explain all the crops going bad? The employment office tells people where jobs are needed:dunce: You just want a reason why you think we need illegal aliens.

I dont want Illegal immigrants
I want legal ones

Unfortunatly our immigration laws makes that impossible for them
And if you dont agree

Then Why dont they just go thru the process like everyone else?

Sounds like a perfect job for parolees. Would you rather have them work with children in a day care center or something of that nature?

i'd rather have a justice system in which the law is applied fairly, and that the same blanket 'felon' category isn't applied to every stupid crime.

a black person is like 70% more likely to be charged with felony eluding the police, rather than the misdemeanor resisting arrest... it's not justice.

and prison isn't some sort of playground in which you get counselors and playtime. a person who spends more than a few months in prison have a VERY hard time readjusting to normal life. that's not even taking into consideration their wonderful job prospects....
