Wise LED owners/growers.....need thoughts on this light

that is core coverage ...........the most amount of light ....like if it was directly under a HID

2 300w generic leds are good for a 4x4 veggie tent

600 the best i seen is a 3x3 core coverage at 1 foot above the plant
You've been looking at inferior panels if that's the case. 4 RW-150's from Area 51 or a Apache Tech 600 will kill it in a 4x4. Or even 600 watts of DIY CXA 3070 COB's.

The problem with high wattage single-lamp LEDs is that LEDs cast a very focused footprint compared to HID lights, casting light down into a circular area rather than casting light outward evenly. You don't have the same penetration when using 300 different 3w LEDs that you get from 1 single 600w light-source, either. So if you're growing in a 4'x4' with LEDs you really want to use multiple lamps so that the spread of the light footprints cover the space more evenly.

My plants grow in 5 gallon drums so trying to use a single light-source LED is out of the question.
