World Of Hempy

and because I know the GDP won't stretch like most, I have taken nice 6-8" clones and will let them grow a long roots system before placing them in Hempy's.

I also have another 20 Royal Cheese clones in Rockwool sitting in my propagator, now I know these have a bit of stretch in them, I will place them in the Hempy's with shorter roots.

......... for these next runs I plan on paying much more attention on dialing my nutes and additives in.

Hey moebius... jus curious but what do you keep you rez water temp at for your cuttings?

Im about to start using aerocloners and after running mine for a day its around 80 degrees.... im thinking thats a bit warm. Its a small 25 site botanicare one. Im thinking the pump is warming this baby up.

I've never worried about water temp. .. I have large pump (+2000L/H) and it sits in about 45L of water (84L Tub). Maybe it warms it ever so slightly, not that i've noticed. but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

How big is the cloner? I think smaller ones will heat up more.

I wanna maximize a bit of stretch to bush them out quicker.. my strain dosnt like to stretch a lot... So hps would be best or what?
HPS is always best.

LED guys please no flames :fire:

Edit:
I may be wrong but inducing stretch artificially won't benefit you yield wise. but if you keep the lights further away you can get them to elongate. I wouldn't.

So I have a very troubled 75:25 Perlite:FFOF hempy finishing up...troubled because all three girls experienced both major pH lockouts>deficiencies and some nute burns from the Earth Juice i was running; however, I decided to take all three of em (two northernberry and one diesel cross--i was previously under the impression I was growing banana kush until my buddy informed me the seeds he gave me were a cross he made of NYC diesel (from soma)) to harvest. I was fucking about in the tent and cracked a stem off of the diesel cross  but I decided to just clip the whole stem and dry her out--i'm running low anyway. Just burned a little popcorn I dried out and it has got me so torched.... I am straight soaring..Its nice to know you can really fuck your girls up and they still provide for you :bigjoint: I'm so stoked to chop and get the next run going!
Here's the report:
So this diesel cross tastes just like that good NYC Diesel--i'm sure taste has suffered a bit and nugs aren't as big and frosty as they would have been if I hadn't fucked the environs/feedings for about two straight weeks in flower, but the high is soaring. It's an immediate take-off to great heights with a very gradual descent...i forgot to post this report like two and a half hours ago and that was the whole point of posting, and i'm still baked, if that gives you any idea of duration. The diesel taste gives way to something like orange peel and memphis barbecue. I didn't expect it, but I'm certainly not complaining! :bigjoint: :leaf:

I heard more complaints than positive reports about Earth Juice mostly in hydro set-ups. But you won't have to worry about that next grow using OC+

I'm not sure how well organic formulas can mix in hydroponic substrates, Im no expert but Organic formulas will contain plant materials and 'stuff' that will interfere with the substrates wicking and aeration properties. a bit like putting crude oil in a sports car... soil is a different concept because the grower is attempting to create a living soil web.

Earth juice might work better in CoCo but my instincts would keep me from using it in perlite.

I'm glad to hear you got smoke anyhows, you're 100% correct that you can do many things wrong and all is rarely lost.

edit:
also .. the substrate mix you chose was always going to give you probs. :peace:

This coco shit just keeps impressing me, I bumped up my OC to 2tbsp/gal this run and found a hungry plant.
This one was 22" tall at the 12/12 flip, the photo is from last week at day 13, it grew 13". Shes been putting on 2" a day since this photo, I hope she quits stretching soon. The wire is 42" above my drain table.

The near 0 veg of the same strain without any topping @ 8wk I'm thinning one more to go

Dr.J, I used to use FFOF in regular pots before I moved into hydroponic hempy's. One thing I can tell you is that with all the bat guano, seabird droppings and earthworm castings that are in it, you have something pretty "hot" on it's own. I've burnt plants with Fox Farms nutes using their own feed charts. I know there is success here on WOH with "soil capping" as Watt can tell you but with FFOF you are gonna have to be very relaxed in your nutrient ppm's. Organics take time to break down then it's a sling-shot best monitored with run-off ppm's.

Heres the not so impressive smart pot hempy. Basically 12/12 from seed. I flushed all the plants with a half gallon the other day just because.

And the happy hempy! I'm guessing another 2-3 weeks for it. Just realized I can't really leave my vegging plants in the party cups that long! I have 6 plants vegging, I'm only really concerned with using 3 for the scrog. Hmm I might have to transplant them twice, which I don't want to do.

I think the fabric Hempy looks impressive enough dude. You've shown it works and that's invaluable information. It'll be interesting to see how it buds-up.

Nice work.

thanks for the input yall, this was just an experimental run to see if I could get some taste benefits from a quasi-soil substrate--the ffof taking the place of vermiculite for the water retention while adding some goodies for the microbes to live in and on...probably just stoned logic which was allowed to be realized only to fail... oh well, next run is already underway, just waiting on chopping these til the weekend...new vent fan comes tomorrow!

Well it did grow and is budding but like I said it does have a lock out or deficiency of some sort, although its had the same nutes as the rest
