To be honest iv never came across a plant that had bad qualitys. Although im losing interest in landrace sativas. Im an indoor grower so they are a bad idea. On the other hand i found sour cream bland. Very high yielder and a beautiful female. Taste is not for me. Afgani's all the way!

i find your post interesting and a bit distressing - considered trying some, but just didn't feel like i'd have good luck
so been trying hybrids for 2 years, pretty good for my needs, but i recall those mexican landraces from years ago
so maybe i made the right choice, but always thought i'd try landrace sativa's
nothing special? or just too much of investment in time/effort?

maybe ill just order from dr green thumb. His seeds are sky high prices. gotta be stable
Herea a tip for you, dont by DrG'S stuff unless you are 100% sure you can grow good, thats too much money to risk, find a cross with pre-98 Bubba in it, Sannies has some or check at cannazon, or just buy MrNices Ortega, a great ,easy growing and cloning plant that wont disappoint you
oh, and my worst was KC33 from KC Brains, but 1 plant did put out over 500 grams outside, the rest sucked

i had a horrible experience with PPP a few years ago, but it was a bad batch of seeds, i got replacements and they rock!

worst i've grown:
-short ryder = compact dense but only 18" tall... worst yeild ever 1-2oz a plant. i did like the high though
-10 week flowering+ is a no go. i can produce so much more in a shorter time with other strain
-FEMINIZED SEEDS, they're made by hermieing a female and those seeds will hermi on you in a heart beat if they aren't treated perfectly, ex. like 2hrs off on the lighting and your screwed. outdoor isnt even in the question with these lol.

*favorites*
-bag seed 2 of 40 were siblings and they grew at an outrageous rate, fastest growth i've ever seen! thought it was gonna be a male for sure, it was 2x as big as the others which were average.
-PPP = hybrid with huge potent yeild what else is there to say, oh yeah shes really hardy and its the 2nd fastest growing plant I've ever had. 50/50 head high and body stone
-white castle = white widow x ice the indica... the ice pheno is hardy, and super potent, shorter but really dense. ice won the cannabis cup too. ultra body stone
-Kaya gold = HUGE yeild like PPP and hardy. but produces average bud with a good unique taste
-Alaskan thunder fuck = pretty potent and good yeild, not as forgiving though....

Arjan Haze #3: Takes way too long to finish, even for a sativa-dom. Doesn't yield much, and the weed is not very potent.
My worst experience... Green House's White Widow. Didn't live up to nearly half the hype. Poor germ rates, Mutation, Low Yields, and what I did harvest wasn't really very dank. On a scale of 1 to 10 for potency I gave it a 6.

Landraces are great given the time and avalible head hight. They grow massive root systems and i feel they do not reach thier full potential grown indoors in pots with ristricted head room. They are special indeed just not practical indoors. Of course they are worth ago. Plenty of lumins for those girls. Iv grown a hawian landrace and the mekong landrace. The hawian landrace took 28 weeks to finish! Getting severely root bound. Thats why i came up with my conclusion they require the great outdoors. peace

second Greenhouse Seeds white widow being one of the worst. 1 / 10 was a dominant female which i used as the mother. It provided great healthy clones ... who produced the ugliest looking plants with the most average stone from any greenhouse seed I have had. 6/10 posted above is kind. I would give it 4/10 and an overall grow of about 2/10

Cant think of many others I have been disappointed with after 2-3 gens.

you cant tell if a strain is good or bad buy just growing 1 or 2 seeds , not even from a whole 10 pack ,
you might have to pop 50 or 100 seeds to find 1 keeper pheno of that strain
Thats a bad strain then. Only a noob breeder wouldnt stabilize a strain to that extent. So basically, yes there are bad strains. Sure, if I took the worst strain in the world and popped a 1000 seeds sure, id find a good pheno/geno somewhere. But that still means the strain sux.

A good strain has the following aspects:
Stabilization (2-3 phenos at most. More than that means it wasn't back-crossed properly or wasn't subject to 1-3-1 cubing and the germplasm had to many hybrids)
Vigor (Either f1 hybrid vigor, or stabilized vigor)
Disease Resistivity (not too important sometimes, but if your stock is really susceptible to mold, then it should have been crossed with a mold resistant strain)
Taste, Potency, Feminization Ratio, Germination Rate, etc. are very hard to tell and subject to opinion.

Overlooked strains:
CMH (sensi seeds crazy miss hyde)
Malawi
Some landraces are really great but people shy away from them because they think hybrids are better and some have pretty long flowering times

Bad Strains(i.e. strains that had many many problems early on, stunted growth, multiple phenos where some were very different and worse, susceptible to mold, etc):
DJ Short Cocoa Kush (sounded awesome, but some phenos tasted like ass. literally)
Any doggies nuts seeds, save blueberry. (on principle that $800 is too much for a big bud pheno of the popular strains)
Pineapple Express AUTO (terrible...grew so short that other auto's looked like regular non-ruderalis strains next to it)
Some purple strains just dont grow well. I think it might be that they like lower humidities

Wow i totally forgot about GH ww probably because it was one of the earlier strains i grew. My problem was that the buds were so airy it was like smoking...nothing. And the high was mediocre, just a little euphoric, no head rush, and certainly no body feeling.
