Worth complementing the light on Bloom?

It is worth complementing the light at flowering using 6500k led along with 250w UV IR 3500k quantum board.
I am using a 250w quantum board LM301H, 35k 660 450 UV IR FS and one 50w 6500k Led Bulb (without the bulb to increase the light).
Do you think its a wast of energy use this 50w 6500k on the bloom to complement the light??

The 6500k LED has so much blue in it especially if you're going with a 100W one. Blue spectrum reduce cell expansion and that's a good thing in Veg and when you want to keep plants short and stubby during the first few weeks of flowering. But after that, this blue spectrum might affect bud growth because of the reasons I stated earlier. A lot of grow lights will have the amount of blue about maybe 12% to 20% of the total light and your 3500K have the amount of blue just right.

That being said, let me say something that refutes all of what I just said. The sun spectrum at any time of the year has a huge amount of blue light and cannabis plants outdoors seem to be doing fine. Another thing is that a lot of people flowered under Metal Hallide which have much blue than red.

So here you go. Please try and posts your results afterwards.

thats why my blurples make my babies so bushy! i was trying so hard to figure that out. i just ordered this guy https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/BAVA-1000w-hps-replace-samsung-lm301h_62360729196.html?spm=a2700.wholesale.deiletai6.5.43813e56EdI0Zo&bypass=true and planned on using him after week 8 when i switch to flower. i believe it has the correct spectrum for your equation but correct me if im wrong

Yes, it's well known that if you grow under red light alone any plant will elongate and stretch like crazy. I also have blurples and they keep my plants short and bushy. Mine have about 15% blue spectrum and this seems to be a good ratio of blue.

The light you linked has all the essential ingredients as they stated in the site. it has 2700K and 4000K white LEDs good mixed spectrum. It also has 660nm deep red LEDs and that's why you see a peak in the spectrum around 660nm. And it has UV and IR, each serving a different function. I actually like this light! Good luck.

After i created this tread i read in other posts that so much light you give, more ATP is created and more energy for the buds get bigger.

in this moment the setup of the grow are:

1x 240W 35k395450660730fs (3500 k + 395nm + 450nm + 660nm + 730nm + 370-780nm)

2x 6500k 50w (4500 lumens each) and i cut off the the plastic bulb so it focus more the light.

What do you think it go to happen to the buds??

You're correct. Research has shown that light quantity is more important than light quality (light spectral distribution) up to a certain degree of course. I mean don't expect to give plants only red or only blue light and call it a day. As long as there is a mixed spectrum of light, then light quantity is what matters. There's a lot of contradicting information out there regarding the best spectrum for plants and even scientists and lighting experts themselves disagree on the "interpretation" of experiments and figures. Lighting for plants is not only driven by the quality of the light spectrum but also by the power requirements, so there's always an understandable compromise. That said, for small growers, power is not that big of an issue, but for large scale and commercial scale grow, they have to make certain compromises to reduce the power requirements.

All in all, I think your buds will turn out just fine man. My original fear is too much blue light might make the buds a little smaller but honestly it's not substantiated as I mentioned in my original post.

Last thing, what is the area of your growing space?

This is a way for the plant to save energy while it’s “sleeping.” Since the blue in the light helps it “know” the time schedule, it will prepare as best it can for lights-out and lights-on."

Thank you for the link. Growweedeasy was my main go to resource when I started growing a few years ago and I think I have read pretty much everything on it, like literally :D, they keep updating their content based on the latest advancements but again thanks for the link man.

For your area of 10 ft2, it is generally recommended to have about 400 Watts of LED actual power draw in order to maximize your yield without CO2 supplementation. This amounts to about 40 actual watts per square foot. With your 240W light + 2 x 50W, you have about 340 Watts of actual power draw which is very good indeed especially considering that these new lights like the one you're using is a little more efficient in converting electrical watts to photons of light. So I think you're pretty much set!

May I recommend one of the best resources I found during the last year, it's a series of videos by Dr. Bugbee explaining the latest in light research for plants among other things. Information has no end :D. This video in particular out of the series of videos is very informative (actually I'm going to watch this again video right now as a refresher :D)

ok, but after your answer we found a lot of information that worth do it, and i will test it.
During veg cannabis benefits from a good amount of blue shorter internodes, but also some red (for root development). In Flower, a lot more red (stretch and bud development) but ~ 5-10% blue

Hi man did you post your results ? I'm going to buy the same led you have and i want to know how it works .. maybe you can send me some good information like how much did you got per 1 plant
