and i been talking to the same ones you have and hear things too
but they still have held in for the most part
as for trolls and others u mentioned sure even if u get rid of all more are signing up within minutes
as for site crumbling away i thought in this myself some tonight and no if everyone left at this moment
bet people would be signing up in minutes and posting to our old post and asking ? about growing
and have you tried to email rolli and tell him this since u seem to feel so strongly about it

How can you rid the site of belligerent trolls? How can you turn around the all to pervasive deeply entrenched ignorance that is passed around as factual knowledge here? How can you rid the site of what obviously are many kids who should not be here and their total lack of maturity is constantly a problem. How can you rid the site of the influx of the wannabe gangsta types who love to talk like they are Crips or Bloods and try to talk all rough and tough and abusive and abrasive and even at times threatening and are just one more of the many disruptive influences here? How can you get rid of or shut up or change the total jerks/trolls that are the 'protected sacred cows' of some mods here who let them get away with murder but when someone else commits a jaywalking level offense they are given infractions or temporary banishment?
It would not be right of me to do what I would consider breaking a trust and telling in any detail what several mods have told me in PMs, but they know there are major problems with the site, and some of them are some of those behind the curtain helping to run the site. There were talks about changing some policies and some personnel, but support from the top has dwindled and the final OK from the top has not been given, not for months and months now, so the known problems are not being allowed to be dealt with and needed changes are not being allowed to be made. How can you or I or any of the membership alter that?
In nations with at least more or less honest free elections people voice their displeasure and disapproval through their vote and even if in the end their votes do not bring about the positive changes they believed they would and hoped they would they at least have some chance to try to change the system. In nations where elections are jokes or elections are not held people voice their displeasure and disapproval with their feet ... they leave and go to a nation where they will have a better chance to live a better life.
No elections are held here so which of the two examples above best fit the situation here?
You cannot bring about change here by leading by example. That will not change the immature kids or the total jerks or the trolls or the 'protected sacred cows' or those who are ignorant and it will not bring about much needed changes behind the RIU curtain.
Not to attempt to portray myself as some paragon of virtue because rather than elevate anyone here I have instead been drug down closer to the levels of others and can at times be a major belligerent. But in most cases where I have ended up in some Mongolian cluster fuck argument it all began when I posted facts, and most of those times doing so without making any sort of direct personal comment towards anyone. In response has often been a tsunami of trolling and personal attacks to which more and more over time I responded to on the same level as they were made due to being fed up with it all.
I have always been blunt and straightforward and always called a spade a spade and I will not candy coat things, and that does rub some, or many, people the wrong way. But often all I did was post factual information without any comments whatsoever and the responses that resulted from that were most times not any attempt to discuss facts or an attempt to refute the facts and instead mostly or strictly personal. That is because of the type or caliber or quality of person so many members here are. How will you change them? A leopard cannot change it's spots and it has no wish or desire to change it's spots, so how can you change a leopard's spots for them, when it would be against their will and wishes?
How will you change these people who are nothing more than the result of a total waste of a sperm and an egg from what they now are and what they will always be into being decent people? How will you increase their level of intelligence to a point where they will then be capable of understanding and accepting that facts are facts and inaccurate beliefs are inaccurate beliefs and never the twain shall meet? How will you change the Internet tough guys who like to make themselves sound like they could kick the collective asses of an entire Navy SEAL team and say that it what they would do to you if they had the chance, or like some who will say things like why don't you come on down to Burnt Scrotum New Mexico so I can take you apart and teach you a lesson, just because they disagree with what you say about growing? How will you change the person with an almost nonexistent breeder and or strain comparative base to rely on who insists they know everything about every strain and breeder that ever existed and will argue until the cows come home that their inaccurate perceptions are accurate? How will you change those who believe that only their personal tastes or likes in herb equate to quality and anyone whose preferences differ smoke nothing but schwag and they will always rip the person they are telling that to a new one rather than just accept that some people prefer like chocolate ice cream over vanilla and that preference does not create highest quality? How will you change the basement breeder who bred two plants from two packs of seeds and insists they created 'The Holy Grail' and are more skilled and talented than professional breeders who might start out with 1000 male plants and 1000 female plants and from there work for 3, 5, 7 or 10 years trying to create the very best they can before releasing it, how are you going to stop them from boasting about what they consider to be their unparallelled breeding skills and starting shit storms? How will you change those who are clearly pimps for some certain breeder and will mislead others every chance they get just so one more person will purchase from the breeder they love and purchase a strain they love over purchasing elsewhere and purchasing a strain that would more suit their taste and likes? How will you cause do nothing MIA mods to do their jobs and do them well? How will you make some mod abandon their 'protected sacred cow' members and treat everyone equally? How will you remove the vindictiveness of a mod who dislikes someone and is incapable of performing their duties without allowing their personal feelings to interfere with the performance of their duties and because of that are incapable of creating and preserving equality for all?
Do you believe that you can convince everyone here to sit around a big Internet campfire and hold cyber-hands and sing Kumbaya and then everything will change for the better?
This site has a massive infestation of sick infected disease spreading vermin and the site itself is in an advanced stage of internal dry rot and is in danger of structural collapse. It would take a miracle for this site to ever be transformed into what I one believed it could be. The disease ridden vermin would have to be eradicated and the internal structure itself would need to be rebuilt to provide site structural integrity.
No offense intended but I rather doubt that you are a miracle worker, a wizard with a magic wand, a genie from a lamp that can transform this crumbling site and no million member march will alter it in the least unless they all march to some other grow site or grow sites because then and only then will the Wizard of RIU sit up and take notice and realize that unless sweeping major changes are made there will be no raising of the Titanic.
