What can you do? You can't just start nuking those people, that'd almost guarantee to set off the real war to end all wars. I for one, don't want that. Pulling diplomats out of these countries until relations with the populace is better sounds like a good option.

"Americans" have a hard time understanding the reason we are spending Military dollars in Lybia and Iraq is for the extraction of oil.
Many countries see this as greed, our politicians see this as "our" interests. What I don't see is the Oil Industry's skin in this game.
I guess I'm one of those Americans, so why don't you shed some light on what evidence or proof you have that we do not have, that America is there for the extraction of oil!
