People who don't earn an income aren't wage earners. The statistic you quote is "median personal income" of people who earn one. I don't even know what to call what you are referring to but it would be a lot less than 30k.

i i was using the top 1% to cover half the total pop . 159 million is half the pop not half the earners. everyone under 30k including kids can be easily covered by taxing to top 2 % wealthiest . everyone including kids living ff of less than 30 k is just over 50% of the total pop.
