i have an 18 gallon tote that is filled 2/3 with water.the utility pump is in there.the controller turns pump on and is only on for maybe 15 to 30 seconds.the hot water is returned to the tote.i tried a 5 gallon bucket but the water would get too hot and the water heater would not turn on then.
Now that's funny!

Tonight's garden update, had a few things to do so got in there earlier tonight so I can just chill the rest of the evening. I replaced the two fans in the 3x3's with new ones, and tossed one of the old ones into the veg closet for airflow in there that wouldn't hurt after cleaning it up. The auto's were fed their bloom regimen and everyone else tonight got a light feed with Fish Fert, Aloe Powder, Coconut Powder, and Silica powder. I also foliar sprayed all plants besides the auto's with the same feed they got tonight.

GG#4 in the Auto Cob tent:

Don't baby those seedlings, get a light and a fan on there.
If they are not moving they are not pumping water and not growing strong.

Ever looked up mainlining? I think it will work nicely with your topping method.

Which seedlings man have plants everywhere in different stages of life. That's what I did yesterday is get two new stronger fans for the 3x3's and then clean up and move over one of the older ones for the closet.

Thanks

The photos were a bit slow loading, I only saw the closeup of the seedlings in the cups (someday I will convince people to stop using cups and smooth pots).
Take em out of that bin as well they need to fight for themselves, they don't need a humidity zone, and will do better dryer, trust me, you need to not water it for like 3 or 4 weeks before that seedling will keel over and die. You can make the most difference to a weed plant in the first 10 days after germination, by focusing on growing roots and forgetting there are even tops connected,

The bin is to catch the runoff. Medium is Coco and I let it dry fully between watering or I would be watering and feeding multiple times a day. The solo cups are just experiments trying to root cuts directly into a medium with no cloner. I am not worried about them too much. But three of the four look GTG ............

Sorry but if I left the seedlings with no water for 3-4 weeks in those tiny containers they would die they are autos also so that would basically be half their lives going to have to pass on that advice lol.

OK, put some newspaper int he bottom of the bin if you want to avoid the pots standing in the wet, it wicks away water.

I am not saying you should not water for that long, but I've tested it. they self-digest after a while the top of the plant looks normal but the roots disappear.

The water left there is because I watered a few hours ago man. It will get sucked up or evaporate.

@ANC: what do you mean with "should not water for that long" - whats the alternative? not to water the plants? just asking because i dont get what you mean

I just know they will do better if you water them sparingly at first, this makes it root pretty aggressively. If you then later take on some method of promoting air pruning future plants it will get even better.
By no means should your medium ever go bone dry But you gotta make that seedling work. Out in nature it would be germinating somewhere out in the open sun and will have to do the same to flourish and reproduce.

I'm growing this plant outdoors, it's getting rained on like mad out there, been raining every single day since it was planted about 2 months ago.
