All LED Indoor Grow- Quantum Boards vs AutoCob's

I said nothing of the kind.

Hanging the 315W CMH vertically in the middle will cause the plants to grow towards it compared to HPS. This is due to the well known fact that more blue makes for a stronger phototropic response.

Placing COB LED lights overhead will simply keep the plants growing up. Their spectrum is also superior to HPS and depending on the setup, more efficient as well.

This is completely backwards. Here is some reading for you rather than repeat mis information about a light over and over. It shows clearly the relationship and effects of Blue and red light on plants using hps and mh of different spectrums

http://horttech.ashspublications.org/content/15/3/646.full.pdf

Or any research current or old from the university of Michigan or Utah where the most Grow light research has been done and documented will show the same thing.

Cobs only get close to the spectrum hps uses but at a lower wattage and it is missing key spectrums. Hps is still considered the gold standard.

Yeah what's killing me right now is the hand watering to be honest. That's what's taking up so much of my time especially with me having to work in bursts I need to stop and take breaks every so often etc.............

Part of the reason I miss my no till organics so much no EC. PH, etc. Just keep the worms happy and the eco system in the soil going and the girls grow themselves.............

I have been eyeballing the raised fabric beds from Grass Roots but would have to see how I'd manage run off...........
i love my ppk diy system.over the last 6 weeks i have been gone from the grow for 6 days ,7 days and 8 days with no problems.i use jacks hydro mix for pennies a gallon .no water cooling,no adjusting ph after mixing the nutes.all auto top offs for my res and could probably go for 10 to 14 days on its own if i had to.no added heat in winter since my 70 pint dehumidifier keeps the heat going during lights out and i circulate the air between my veg and flower rooms.i only have 1 dehumidifier,1 mini split that i only use as a/c,1 on demand water heater for co2.i typically only spend 2 to 4 hours a week maintaining 6 plants in veg and 6 plants in flower.i am averaging around 9 oz a plant.i am running between 1200 and 1600 watts in flower and 200 watts in veg for my 12 plants.the lights are all diy cxb3590 3500k with kingbrite lens on them.i am not close to being dialed in yet.this room has only been running for less then a year and only a few months with the full 6 plants in each room.i am in michigan so winter can be pretty cold.

I think we're ALL after that!! I know I am, good luck. I don't know your health story, but mine is simple. 2 bad falls, one at work off the top of a railroad car that was lifted onto a jig, down onto concrete about 20 feet below. Couple vertebrae. The next fall was from much less height at home and much worse injuries, 2 more vertebrae, all the ribs on right side, broken collar bone and shoulder blade, and a collapsed lung. So, needless to say, effort is my enemy. Lifting is the enemy. Streamlined is awesome, efficiency rocks!!!

You sold your QBs didn't you? So is this still a head to head comparison? New variables?

When you get the parameters lined out you'll let us know?

Let's see some easy button shit brother!!

Yes QB's are gone. I have asked a mod to move and rename the thread already. Next week more details on the new direction and setup. I still want to do more testing with the COB's like them and their flexibility being single units.

You're going to see easy mode on beast mode soon. Another one of my crazy threads but after over a year of trying different things and products I am confident I have the proper direction "for me". This ain't for everyone I do a lot of different shit complicated grow breeding autos photos clones I don't need to be stressing deficiencies toxicity pH ec fuck that I got spoiled doing no till. It's more work in some ways but it's a love I have and it's easy work tap water and top dress. I can't wait to stuff these GG#4 into 20 gallon pots and get them right before flipping th switch on them. Same with the sba. And I want to see what the new autos that i just started will do in 20gals too breeder says 6zips in 65-70 days with good conditions we shall see.

As for my situation I discuss being ill but not the specifics of it too much. To make a very long story short in 2014 I was given a flu vaccine for work that left me paralyzed in a bed for about 15 months. I initially was diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome but that flew out the window. I am classified as unknown right now and we just applied to NIH because they accept "applications" for special cases. Basically I have nerve damage (severe) from head to toe, and my immune system and nervous system are attacking themselves and my body. Three years of high dose Prednisone has brought further complications. If I was elderly I'd be dead lol. I could stop breathing at any time if my nerves that control the lungs get hit and the same type of risk is in the bottom rear of my brain with the central nervous system. People really don't get when I tell them I really do live day to day. I think it's the first time I have shared the that much detail openly. Since you shared I found it fitting . Anyways today is another day and I have work to do. :)

Sorry to hear about your back that sucks i have some iffy vertebrae from years of sports and being a fireman so I can relate.

Cheers and get well

Ok so to discuss some of the changes.

- I will be phasing back into no till organics AKA =ROLS/ Living soil. Worms are on order from Uncle Jim, I have plenty of my favorite soil amendments, plenty of aloe. coconut, and silica powder, but need a re-up on some Ful-Power. I will be using 20 gallon fabric pots in the new flower area, and #3 pots/#3 bags in the veg areas. Other areas will get whatever is best for the situation at the time.

- New flower area will be a 4x8 tent coming next week. I will be running (2) 600 watt Hortilux Gold E Ballast with Super HPS bulbs in 6" Raptor hoods & Testing a 600 watt Blue MH from Hortilux in a smaller daystar hood sandwiched in between. Plan is 8-10 20 gallon no till pots.

- Pots will have life, worms, cover crop, straw mulch etc just like I usually do.

- The QB 3x3 will stay with the Hortilux setup running the 600 watt Blue MH and the COB tent will stay with the COB's. The closet will become a dedicated dry area.

- For the meantime I took (2) COB's out of the COB tent and hung them in the closet so everyone has some lights. It will be for a few days only so no big deal the plants will be fine.
