Looks like you may have your fans pointed to directly or on too high...the dehydrated leaf tells all.......
yeah, i've been keeping the door open ~2 inches and have the fan pointed upwards into the closet, but the less healthy plant is receiving more of the wind than the taller one. maybe ill just start keeping the door cracked open without the fan...this should allow for enough circulation right?

Have you used any nutes or ferts on these plants?

i got some scotts 10-10-10 fertilizer. its the pebble kind, so i'm not sure if i've been using it exactly the proper way or not. i've been sprinkling some on top of the soil before i water about once a week. i don't think i'm going to add anymore, because each time i water the plant it should release more nutes from the grains of fertilizer

i think the best kind of nutes from what ive heard around the forum, are ground up nutes that you dissolve into water.
could be mixed opinions though

Duece.

hmm...maybe i'll try grinding up the nutes that i have and mixing them with water first the next time i add nutes. i put a bunch of new soil in the 5 gallon buckets that i transplanted to and the plants seem to be loving it so far

That's what this forum's for but I think it'd probably be a better idea to run the cfls during vegging and then go back to the hps for flowering and maybe add a couple cfls during that time if you want.

Damn thats crazy... you might consider gently tying the top so that it grows at an angle.

alright guys, sorry for the lack of updates...thanks to those who check back every now and then
i believe today is the 2 month mark from when they first sprouted!
anyways, here's some pics:
the top half of the tall one (it's taller than i am now, thus the upward angle):

bottom half of the tall one:

the shorter plant:

upclose shot of a bud site:

things are going well, i guess i have about a month left in flowering. right now, the bud sites arent looking as big as others i have seen...will they continue to get much bigger? or are they about as big as theyll get?

also, before any light comments, i know i should have much more lighting than i have right now, but that's pretty much all i could afford..for what i have, i'm pretty pleased so far!

Hey bro, great light placement. Those bud sites around the lights are gonna get pretty big.
For your sake though, I hope the plant doesn't get much taller haha.
Well if you're on a tight budget you will be able to flower.
The only thing I'm going to say about lights is... you will get thicker and more buds if you strategically place them around the plant.
Although with that monster, easier said than done huh? lol
Great job with this grow, I look forward to more updates.

haha thanks man...vertical growth on the tall plant has slowed down quite a bit, so that's good news. i also had apartment inspections today, but luckily they weren't very in depth and didnt check out my room. almost had to move them and it was going to be a huge hassle....1 month left i guess!

Yea moving that big ass monster would have been the worst.
Great grow though,
why do you think the taller plant got to be so tall?
