Oh Chit Brother I Just Saw Another Question.Beings You Have A Large Area To Cover I Would Use Aluminium Foil.:weed:

I get it... You do that for the same reason that you cover your res to keep algae from growing. Good idea. I could use that white plastic that I put on my walls, too.

Finally planted the other 2 seedlings in the 2nd tub.
Here’s Libby:
She’s a Barney’s Farm Liberty Haze.

Here’s Tabitha:
She’s a Cali Connection Tahoe OG. This sucker already outgrew Libby by a longshot and grew a thicker, sturdier stem. And she sprouted about a week later. Wow.

Here’s their new home:

Bow your head, bitch!

I’m not a bad guy, it’s for her own good.

OK, now I’m enjoying it! Bondage! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Edit: I'll burn in hell for that joke!

Welcome, 822!

Are you a new grower? Let us know if you have any questions about this type of hydro system. I usually run into every problem that can possibly happen, so maybe you'll learn from my mistakes and/or accidents -- what not to do. ;-) I also get a lot of good advice from experts on this thread.

Good luck with the super lemon haze!

G'day Dave

Cheers for making me welcome !
I've been growing for a few years now and really enjoying it . I had a good grow at the start of the year with a Pineapple Express and a detroit badass both under two sgs 160 all white version in soil I got 9 oz all up which wasn't too bad first time round but hopefully will reach a higher number this time . I've got 1 slh in hydro 2 slh in organic mix I made up along with 1 purple kush ,silver bullet,Marion Davies,x2 frost fortress so hopefully I should have some nice pics to show you guys in a few months .
Actually I had my ph fluctuating but that settled down I think it was due to the hydroton but I did notice the ec levels have been rising any thoughts ? I'm pretty new to hydro
Sorry for jacking the thread to bro

9 oz is great the first time around with the Area 51's! The SGS-160 all white must be a rare model. Did you have to special order them?

Welcome to the world of hydro, grower. Don't worry about jacking this thread with a few questions, that's not a problem at all. Regarding your tds/pH observations, I've found that with hydroponics I need to watch the pH/tds every day and adjust as needed. Are you topping up your res with plain water as the level drops? I always do that before measuring anything. How high is your tds and how big is the plant that's in that system? If the tds goes up a lot, I might suspect that it's too high and you could have nute lockout, but I'm not an expert on that (although I should be since it's happened to me enough times).

Cheers man I was pretty happy with the result the detroit badass sure was fire and was the heavier yielder of the two!

I bought the lights last yr round November time they run the all white 4500k xpg diodes they run great too!
Eraser head sold them on the site for a couple months maybe.

I top up the res with PhD water of 5.5 when it drops but it doesn't drop a great deal maybe only about 25mm from the white line on the sight tube . The plant in haven't been able to check the past good few days but when I last did I changed the res out and noticed I had started to get a few good roots hitting the nute solution and the plant looked nice and green with no damage at all but when I see it I'll let you know what the readings are.
The plants at it's fourth set of leaves aswell so still a baby I left the nutes at 1.5 ec and my tap water is at .5 all the time.

That's some insulating sheeting whose name escapes me right now. But you can buy it in Home Depot or Menard's, Lowe's, etc. It's light proof, so I put it around my plastic buckets that aren't light proof.

1.5 Siemens seems awfully high for a little plant. Are those the units you're referring to? I think on my pen it would come out to 1000 ppm. For a baby plant I'd keep it under 500. 300-400 ppm would be good until she gets bigger. I'm giving Lucinda, my bigger plant, around 600-700 ppm right now... the seedlings just 300-400.

1.5 ms/cm to a Hanna meter that's 750 ppm I just looked up.

My tap water is at .5 ec already and I followed the nova bottle for early veg growth it said ec of 1.0 I'm pretty sure I've kinda took some advice off the guy at the hydro store and he said to kind of not so much worry about the .5 ec in my tap water but I'm still really new to this so any advice I'll gladly listen to I'll check her out tomorrow and see how she's going fingers crossed she's not a crispy mess lol

I am not well versed in EC measurement, but isn't .5 like 250 PPM?

Trimmed Lusinda & tied down some branches while flushing with plain water.

I’m trimming a lot more this time. Last time the foliage got too thick, so I’m erring on the side of trimming too much.

Front of Lusinda after trimming:

Front after tying down the 2 tops:

Back after trimming:

Here’s Lusinda after tying down her 2 tops in back:

Now that I look at her from this angle, I’m thinking that I could have left some of the tops in the middle where I opened up the plant by spreading her main branches apart.

Spotted some roots hanging down while changing the res water:

Also noticed some nute burn on a couple of the fan leaves hiding in back:
