You may have to buy a socket extender or two. Those are also in the same sections of walmart and HD.
It is a simple fix, and cheaper than buying more lamps.

I live in a bad area, someone (some gangster person i'm sure) would take them or the police would find them outside. Inside is my only option. And As for my mom finding them, She knows I smoke and doesn't care she's just kinda sketchy about me growing. But I think it's safer to grow a few small plants in the safelty of my own home than go to shady dealers who have been arrested tons of times and who are unreliable and just all around bad people, which are most dealers in my area, I think she'd just get a little pissed off and probly throw them away if she found them. But as I posted before, she is in a wheelchair and can't fit it into mr room, so I doubt she will find them.Trying to grow while still at home Riiiiiiisky. Likely to get thrown out when (not if) you are caught. I remember my mom always found my pipes and porn. Until I built a secret box under the floor in my closet while they were away for the weekend.
For some reason though they never noticed my plants in the field next door though. They were clearly visible from the kitchen window. They grew to over 6 ft.
My advice is try and find someplace to plant them outside. Even if it is a fairly public place. You would be surprised what ppl don't notice in public. Esp. nowadays w/their noses planted on their cell phone texting.

I DO have pics up. they must not be working on your end. lol. and I was thinking about flowering soon but I was iffy about it. Also I've been looking around a lot online and I've never heard of that scrog screen thing you mentioned.

Thanks. I'll look for that stuff next time I go to walmart, which will probably be tomorrow or in a few days, as soon as I possibly can manage to. (And as for the cheaper than lamps thing, I've been buying my lamps at goodwill, so they've been like 2-3$ each anyway. But the y splitters sound better. Taking up less space is definitely my need right now. =]

I agree, you will end up pulling your hair out further down the road trying to keep them concealed.

First of all, congrats on growing your own. And good luck as you navigate doing so on a tight, tight budget. I actually can't help too much because I don't do soil and I don't do CFLs, but if you're patient and post questions and put up with people saying "just spend some money" you'll get help. Definitely look in the DIY thread, and at CFL posts.
As for keeping it hidden, once they start flowering, they are going to STINK. As if you were smoking for 12 hours straight in a small room. I noticed that with lights off the odor drops, but with lights on, DAMN they REEK. So while your mom might not be able to get into the room, anyone entering the house is going to smell it. Just letting you know what to expect.
Good luck. You can do this. There are lots of ways to make a lot of what you need for next to nothing. And some other budget growers will give you great ideas for the rest.

Thanks. I am hoping one or two plants won't stink TOOOO bad, and I'm guessing with 3 plants only 1 or 2 will probably be female. I'm trying to take precautions such as making a cheap filter and airing it out enough so the smell hopefully dissipates enough to keep them fairly unnoticeable. I'm also keeping windows open for fresh outside air to get into my room. I'm keeping air fresheners and inscence on hand too. I figure I'll cross that bridge when i get to it. I'm more worried about getting them TO that point first. And Her finding it is really one of my lower worries at the moment. it's more of a space and budget problem than anything.
dont spray too much air freshener or incense, i did that when i was 16, in my little grow room, my mom told me not to but i did it anyways and the chemicals in it killed my plant . LOL especially if its in a confined area...sometimes mommy does know best

Ya. Mom told me not to grow but did anyway. the only reason she's against it is because she doesn't want me to have cop issues. XD And I will try not to. Hoping the open windows most of the time thing helps a little too with that. And making a cheap filter for the grow box. But ya, I'll figure that out when I get there, I just want to get them grown to the point of even beginning budding before I think about worrying about the smell. =] And I'm 20 and didn't REALLY start smoking until about two years ago [at 18] (tried it at 14, wasnt sure about it and off and on till then) and just recently started learning about growing. I feel kinda behind compared to everyone else. XD

No unfortunately I don't have anyone like that. I wish I did though. We have a secret coal room in the basement I THOUGHT about trying to grow in, but it's too musty and damp down there (we have a very old house that was built during the depression, so its small) So I was thinking that probably wouldn't work.heyy, just a suggestion. You have any relatives or close friends close by that would be open to letting you grow at their house? seems like like it would be stressful growing at your place. Hell I have a hard time keeping mine a inconspicuous and I have my own place

best idea yet. Basements are always best. getcha some fans in there and a dehumidifier to dry it up. if you can find one cheap. Check garage sales and such. I would invest your efforts into the secret basement room.

I'll check into trying to do it. it's also easy for bugs to get in down there. Just trying to be precautious so I don't get mold or bugs on my plants. Haha, I don't even know if theres working outlets down there.

I know you are trying to do this for cheap. (aren't we all) But if you are going to grow anything worthwhile indoors you will end up spending some cash. Trust me on this one. I started w/a converted refrigerator as a stealth grow.
