HPS and MH Lighting Side by Side, OK or NOT?

I'm constructing a 3 tier shelf system with fluorescents connected to the bottom side of the middle shelf, and 2 600w HPS lights connected to the underside of the top most shelf. I'm going to be using 1 HPS for one fixture, 1 HPS to MH conversion bulb in the 2nd fixture, and a fan in the middle of both fixtures to circulate a small amount of air. I'm putting a total distance of about 3+ feet between the lights and the plants.

My question is, do the people agree that this is the ideal setup or would I be better off running dual MH and then HPS bulbs? The folks at my local Hydro store who sold me the setup told me that it would ideal to run one of each because it'll promote a good amount of growth and onset flowering when the plants are ready.

The shelf is 6 feet high, by 4 feet wide, and 1.5 feet deep. As I said above, fluorescents on the bottom, and MH and HPS on the top. It'll be sitting in the living room of my apartment due to lack of a good growing space =) I'm confident it'll provide ample heat in the midst of 30 some odd degree weather during the tale end of the pac northwest winter months.

Any and all input is welcome.

Thanks.

Its my favorite way to grow.. I love some MH in the flower room.. Most indoor labs style growing is done under both, plus they use a diffusing panel to combat localization..
