Ok member since today. Join the amare club. Have fun flowering 450 watts in a 4.5x4.5. Make a grow log I want to see this. I use 16 cxb 3590 to flower in a 5x5. The 3590 are 20% more efficient at that wattage than the 3070. I'm pushing 800ppfd which is a little on the light side. That se450 will very poorly flower the space amare is trying to push. You're a new member so it's typical
I will be building my fixture in a week or so. I will definitely have enough cobs to cover my space very well. After checking out this Amare thread, I am curious how important the additional 20 Cree xlamps and 105 blue/red/IR LEDs are in the overall setup.

I would be interested in adding my own type of DIY xlamp and royal/far red 5w LEDs to mimic this setup if it is worth it.

Opinions?

I was also trying to do some research on those X lamps they also have some in full spectrum for Horticulture uses.
If you get any more information that will help in the process me know as well.
It would be greatly appreciated

I am going to contact my friend at rapidled again. He has a few different far red and royal blue supplemental kits. 2' and 4' with heat sink included. He also has the xlamps available. I'd love to mimic this Amare with my diy setup.

I suspect I could dismantle the 120 LED Mars Hydro 600 panel I have and build it in with my fixture, but don't know if this would be cheaper or as effective as buying everything separately. The LEDs in my Mars Hydro are 5w chips and i can always send off to mars hydrofor more diodes when they burn out.

The cree's in the Amare put out 2 1/2 times the light per watt than a mars. They are also soldered to the aluminum circuit board on the mars making them useless if you tried to remove them.

lol the buds in your thread are so scraggly and tiny , you really gotta step it up bro for top buds that's sad and if you say your growing GG4 wow that's really bad man that strain makes huge buds.
Very first led grow. Did a bunch of things wrong. Can't say a SE-450 doesn't cover a 4'x4' though. That's for sure.
Yeah, plants went In rough shape going on plus got the mites. Read dammit. Wasn't the best grow but was bomb smoke & good yield. I show my grow wheather it's in top shape or has problems. Not here to be fancy pants, just share. Believe me, I usually grow bomb healthy plants. Just not all the time do to outside influences, jobs, circumstances.
Not every grow is perfect. I'd say I'm batting 75% though. You just don't see it or haven't looked back at my hps grows.
Let it go. You don't even grow.

I think the se450 is like 1150 plus whatever discount codes you can find.
I haven't seen any documented grows of the pro9 which is the most expensive model. Even then, I know one of the led depot shops has a 12% amare discount code. That's like 230 dollars off and free shipping. Convenience is the name of the game when your a lazy ass like me. I ain't putting together my own lights. That's what amare is for lol

I use nematodes/beneficial mites and haven't had any issues with pests. But idk if either of those would help with mitesbongsmilie

And since when did bag appeal = potency?
You didn't smoke that bud he grew yoda.
Anytime you have a problem like pests or root issues it sets you back. Especially in the yield department when you're in flowering. You're not very attentive for being a "grower". My assumption is youre an hid die hard cause that's all you've ever used. And if you ever switched to led you would have a learning curve also. I doubt your first grow under new lighting would be dialed, sir yoda

I roasted my plants when my cobs first came in. Woops haha
I hope I don't roast any of mine! Even if it weren't 20 xl2 and 105 5w diodes, would it still be beneficial to add a few strips of these various chips, or would the results be neglibile for the amount of time and aggravation it will take to mount and wire all of them

I was thinking about mounting some extra heatsinks in between cobs with the 5w and 10w chips similar to the Amare. Maybe not quite as many, but I'm only covering a 20"x46" closet.IMG_2047.JPG

The only thing that sucks is the white xl2s need to be driven @ at least 2000ma, the blue crees can take 1500ma, but reds can only take 1000 ma. It would probably take at least 2 additional drivers, maybe 3.
